hello friends,

If I took my last  semester off and taking only 2 classes for summer and deciding to take my OPT for associate degree would i be eligible to file OPT application? I am sure me taking my last semester off has nothing to do with my OPT filing eligibility but my international advisor is  not sure and time is running out for me as it takes 90 days to get the OPT card. Could anyone give me suggestions or a valid link that shows OPT application can be filed so that I can show it to my advisor.  that would be really great. I would appreciate your help. Thank you!

 Who is eligible for OPT?

An F-1 student who has attended an SEVP-certified college, university,
conservatory, or seminary on a full-time basis for at least one academic
year may be authorized for up to 12 months of OPT per education level.
However, F-1 students who have one year or more of full-time curricular
practical training are not eligible for OPT for that degree.

Visit this link  http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/opt_policy_guidance_042010.pdf

Hope this helps.
