New Nepal should maintain stronger ties with China. What do you people think?

give me 3 reasons why we should?

Reason # 1.
Nepal have ignored China for last 200+ years while Nepal have open border with India.
This have created unbalance. I think Nepal should open border with China as well.
Let in Chinese investors, business entrepreneurs venture into Nepali market.
The same way Indian have access to Nepali market.

Reason #2.
China to be the most powerful nation witthin 5-10 years economically and in militarily.
Nepal gains more by maintaining stronger relationship with China than by closing the border.

Reason #3.
We could tap in the railway network  from Lhasa, Tibet to Kathmandu.
Nepal-China could build more roads linking from Kathmandu to Tibet and other parts of China.
This we can have only by maintaining stronger ties with Chinese government.

 Nepalibitich,

You are right. It is highly beneficial for us to suck off China, rather than India.

But lets take an out of body experience and put ourselves in the Chinese shoes. Are they dying to start off a relationship with us? They havent given two shits about us for the past 200 years, and suddenly now they should? Did we find a stash of Uranium somewhere in our land? Nopes.

Now lets take a much more global view to try and understand this country, our neighbor. Blocks Google, Youtube, Twitter because they don't want to provide freedom of speech to their citizens.

It is also reluctant to acknowledge that Tibetans are not happy with their current situation and are reluctant to actually do anything to improve it. In other words, they don't give a fk while there's blatant human rights violations going on left and right. They might actually hate Tibetans cause of all the successful attention that the immolations have drawn from activist groups throughout. That is one possible reason they're helping us build the rumored 750MW dam on the Seti river. So that they can control how we implement policies regarding TIbetans.

Now lets delve into some personal experiences. Chinese people trust Chinese people. How many Nepalis do you see working in a Chinese gas-station or at a Chinese restaurant? They just love us dont they? I've spoken to more than a few Chinese STUDENTS. After introductions most of them always ask where Nepal is. When I tell them we're neighbors, they act genuinely suprized.

What you are talking about, nepali_bitich, is equivalent to a fly sitting on a bull's head, thinking it's giving him extra burden, wheras the bull doesnt even remotely realize that there's a fly on its head.

They might be rich, powerful, but they dont have an incentive to help us. India doesnt either, we just allow them to take advantage of us. We need to help ourselves.

They even don't listen to their own people. So what do you think? They give shit about interest and our heritage once they have upper hand in our government. If you are fascinated by their march pass checkout that of North Korea, you would probably then say we should have good tie with North Korea. Bad logic . Have you ever appreciated what have Japan, US and Germany done to our country? They would probably get well into our community than those Chinese. Its just that you have not felt their presence and so you expecting a lot, or you are already too much from whats going on our country and expecting something better from others. It is you who can make a difference and not Chinese or Indian or American.

Remember which commi fanatic power snatched half our everest in the 50s .I think Nepalbitich bro has been highly influenced by Shree 1008 diliprai.
i once read this guys comment that nepal should be a part of china and they would develop this land. I bet he would sell his mom for a good price.Think rational bro,the smelly indians are goons but the yellow peoples of the north aint no holy men either.Try tlaking with a chinese or make a chinese friend u ll get to know how heartless and brainwashed thede peoples are.

Sorry we cannot have communism in our country.
More over all the 3 reasons mentioned above will be curse for Nepal.
Number 1 reason:
Chinese Enterpreneurs will eat away Nepali Enterpreneurs.Reason being they are willing to provide Chinese vproduct or Chinese business very cheaply.Right now India cannot afford to do so reason being they will lose all the money they gain on tax. Also logictics price would be high if goods are to be imported from China as the bay area is further on Chinese side than on Indian side.

Number 2 reason.
China will become powerful nation in next 5 to 10 years but it might start cold war with US again and Neal might be the focal point for it.Once it surpasses the US economy.US will try its best to destroy chinese economy.Open border with China might have indirect impact in Nepal.See what happened to Russia. Not many people know but US lured Russia into Afghanistan and started the never ending war.
Example for this:Korea and Vietnam

Number 3 reason
I do not like the concept of connecting Tibet with Nepal because it is one of the poorest place in China. It would do no good.

we should try and use India instead of India using us.Example Bhutan's economy is going higher day by day using Indian currency.
But the only problem with India is again Nepal is bordered with worst part of India which is pathetic.

i have a story to say regarding nepal-china friendship.
once upon a time i was in my university doing my assignment in the library. there was a chinese girl next to me. i forgot what happened but at some point i started talking with her. she asked me where i am from to which i replied nepal. then she asks me where is nepal and i tell it is in the southern part of china between china and india; it is china's neighboring country. she gets really amazed and tells me she never knew this. she asks me what is nepal known for and i tell mt. everest. she was shocked, she thought it was in china and starts searching about nepal in her chinese google (they have their own hugely popular search engine like google).

the moral of the story: looks like they don't teach geography in china.

now my point of view. nepal as a country should keep a good relation with all of its neighboring countries and around the world. the only thing is that nepal should not be influenced by any countries and no matter what  it should not let it be a playground for other countries. there is nothing nepal can gain by severing relations with india or china but can gain everything by maintaining good relations. nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and it is lucky to be in the middle of the two major economies of the world. the economic tides that have been seen in india and china will definitely even unknowingly rise nepal too and this has a lot to do with india rather than with china as india have let nepal maintain a 1 indian rupee=1.6 nepalese rupee conversion rate which i believe in reality should be much more (just guessing 1 indian rupee=3.2 nepalese rupee). how to use these two great economies to our advantage lies completely in the hands of nepal. nepal should be able to persuade china and india by providing a favorable ground for investment to invest in nepal (remember thirsty person always goes to water, water does not come to a thirsty person).
nepal and india have similar religion, culture and language and it has always been a major player in the development of nepal. nepal is a country that runs on foreign aids and india is one of the major contributer.
china has also invested in the development projects but apart from that these two countries have been totally isolated from each other until recently. people in nepal seem to support china over india but china is really like an alien to nepal. there's no difference whether we support china over india or mars over india. always a poor guy is jealous of the rich guy and feels intimidated by the rich guy.
