short layover at houston port of entry.
I have 1.5 hrs layover in G. Bush international airport, Houston. Is it sufficient to go through immigration, baggage recheck and connect to another flight in just 1 and half hour?
yeah I doubt you will be able to complete the whole thing in 1.5 hr depending upon what time of day your flight is . But they do provide some expedite @ port of entry for ones with connections. I hope this info helps ..
It's tight man. You may make it and you may not. Depends upon the traffic. Btw, which airline is it? And which city you flying to? If it is continental, they have flights going to major cities every 30 minutes, so you can catch next flight with a wait time of just an hour or less.
Thanks Everybody!
@furke- i will be connecting to continental but found out that my flight is the last flight to my destination for that day.
I will be landing on houston at 5:05 pm and connecting to continental at 6:55 pm. So I have exactly 1hour and 50 minutes layover to go through immigration and custom, recheck my luggage , go through security, change the terminal and catch my connecting flight before the gate is closed. Is 1 hr and 50 mins doable?? previously i thought it was 1.5 hrs.
you should be fine. typically international flights arrive a little early anyways ( 30 mins 45 mins ) .. you'll have at least 2+ hrs.. that's good enough.. that's the normal case situation..
Bush intercontinental is big and terminals are distant apart. You have trams to get you to your new terminal. Just don't board on the wrong one; and you should be just fine, considering 1 hr 50 mins of layover.
Thanks bikster and goli!
i researched and found out that the flight from doha to houston is delayed about 23mins(average). This leaves me with about 1.5 hrs.
people who have used IAH as port of entry- could you please tell me idea how long does it takes to clear the customs and immigration and baggage claim and recheck in a busy day at IAH?
The problem is there are no other flights to my destination on that day if i miss my connecting flight.
Are there anyone who successfully connected to their flights in short time at Houston? if yes ,please help me with this.
IF you are an american citizen or PR, I am guessing you will make it to your local flight. Immigration delays are nominal for citizens or PR. Otherwise, if it is a normal day at IAH chances are high that you will make it.
@chappaljutta, i am a F1 visa holder.
Are there any cheap hotels to stay overnight in case i happen to miss my flight?
