Jesus Loves you,

Why don't you focus on how Christianity and Hinduism is similar? Why are you focussing on the differences?

There will be no animosity unless someone wishes to create one. Here this nincompoop JesusScrewsYou is trying to do just that. Create hostility. I say, ban his tail from this website. Extremists have no refuge here.

So you all want to make all kinds of false assertions and I am supposed to just sit queitly and nod my head?

You made this whole thing up:

FYI 33 million Devs. That doesnt mean 33 million gods. Devs were the inhabitant of a ancient kingdom called "Dev nagar" (country of Devs). they used a script called "Devnagari script" ( script used in Devs country). later some how  the country collapsed ( by natural disaster, disease, drought etc) they moved from their country "Dev Nagar" to different geographical area. and as a memory of their glorious day, they wrote History books ( those books are called mahabharata and Ramayana) just to let know thir kids about thir ancestors.

Later things got messed up ( like you guys messed up with Jesus teaching), those books became religious books , ppl started to interpret Devs as god. for a trined mind   those books (Ramayana and Mahabharata) are just history books.
Thats why my friend you are using extreme version of one religion to spread the extrem version of another religion (Christianity)

You made this whole thing up. There is no proof that there was a place called Dev Nagari. This is what all you Hindus believe is the kingdom of your 33 Million gods.

East Sidaz,

You also made it all up.

I feel that religion is a vehicle of teaching morality. Any vehicle is as clean as the person who is maintaining it. Don't blame the vehicle if it is dirty. Blame the people who didn't value the vehicle and so let it get dirty.

Like Zee TV is using serials to teach morality based on Hindu values:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choti_Bahu

Hollywood is using movies to teach morality based on Christian values:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil's_Advocate_(film)

The purpose of both is the same. It is simply a way to teach morality in society. The message of both the above shows/movies is good. There is positive in both.

This is the problem of the world - your God, my God, hindu God, muslim God. No tolerance, and giving spirituality a bad status in the name of religion. Koran, Bible, the Gita, these are all books meant for understanding the same reality with different perspectives, according to time, place and circumstance. Why are people not concentrating on the essence of these teachings? The goal is love, compassion and mercy, not hatred or division. I'm sure Jesus didn't teach that "my way is the only way, you'll go to hell if you don't follow my path." Neither did prophet Muhammad instruct to go and bomb a marketplace with innocent people. Nor the Gita teaches violence and separation.

Please, for God's sake, let people understand him (or her or it) in whatever way they want.

SP123, though I understand what you are saying and I agree, the fact is that it is Christianity that is one of the least tolerant of religions. Hinduism is a lot more accepting of all other religions including Christianity and Islam.

You said:
I'm sure Jesus didn't teach that "my way is the only way, you'll go to hell if you don't follow my path."

a Unfortunately, Christians are adamant that this is what Jesus said. They will tell you that unless you go through Jesus's way YOU will go to hell. This is sad and unfortunate.
http://bibleandquran.org/isjesusgod/ch3.htm

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
Jesus claimed that He is the only way to heaven and that there is no other way that leads to heaven. No matter how hard anybody may try, if he/she wants to go to heaven he/she will have to go through Jesus. If you want to go to London from New York, you need a specific ticket to go to that particular place. But if you think, "I will go to airport and catch any flight", assuming that every flight is going to London, then you will never reach the place because you need to catch the specific flight which is going to London. In the same way if we want to go to heaven, we should determine our way. And Jesus said that He is the way… and that no one can go to the Father except through Him.

Yes, Babal Khate, I agree with you. Many Christians think that way, and that has caused many problems in the past and the present. But I personally believe that Jesus Christ was very compassionate and kind. A person of such mentality would never have said something that would divide people or create hatred.

 SP123,

I agree with you 100%. If the real Jesus Christ was living today, he would be extremely disappointed in how his teachings have been manipulated and changed and made into a business. And basically by saying Jesus is the only "way truth, light to God" the Christians are trying to have a monopoly on all the positive things that religion has to give. This way, they get to elliminate all of their "competition" in their business of recruiting converts to their "brand" of religion.

 SP123,

Wow, that was a bad ass video that you posted, yaar. I watched it a few times, pausing in between to get the message. The guy talks so fast. But the message is solid.

What I hear it saying is that God's intention was good, but mankind has abused it's powers in the name of science and religion. Is that what it is saying?

What an awesome video!

Mankind used Science to build Atom Bombs. And Mankind used religion for the "weak" to control the "strong."

Yes, that's what the video is trying to say. But there are subtitles in the video so shouldn't be too difficult to understand :)
