Anyone Received 221g in Nepal ?
Hello Folks,
I had an Interview Last Week for H1B Stamping at Kathmandu Consulate..The Interview went fine, I had all the documents but i was handed 221g for Administrative Processing..Anyone been in the similar condition in Nepal ? How long does it take ? Please share, I am tensed now. I only have 2 weeks of Vacation left now.
Questions asked:
VO: Good Morning, How you doing today ?
Me: I am doing good. How are you ?
VO: Good, Thank you !
VO: So what do you do at XXX Compandy ?
Me: I am XXXXX.
VO: What's your Salary ?
ME: $ XX,XXX
VO: Is that a Direct Employment ?
ME: YES
VO: Can i see your recent Paystubs ?
ME: Given.
VO: Tell me what exactly you do at the Company.
ME: Mentioned my responsibilities.
VO: How long have you been working & who's your supervisor ?
Me: Answered.
VO:How many rounds of interviews did the U.S. company conduct while hiring you ?
Me: Phone Interview & In-person Interview.
VO:Can i see the tax returns of the Company ?
ME: Given,
VO: Well, everything seems Ok, but we'll have to check on something. We'll contact you when it's done.
& handed over a slip and that's all.
It sucks to wait man, its killing me.

Oh Brother, That can be very Brutal.. Recently, I have seen most of the H1B people getting stuck here in KTM for few months. It used to be easy in Nepal but we're seeing Indian trend handing 221g slip in KTM as well.
My suggestion: Do not come for Stamping unless you really have to. Such as: Only if you have Emergency. Avoid it. It may not be worth it.
How long does it take ?
There's no specific answer to that question. It may take a couple days to a year.
DO NOT COME TO NEPAL FOR H1B STAMPING UNLESS YOU REALLY HAVE TO. COME ONCE YOU HAVE A GREEN CARD.

I do not have any crime, Not even a speeding ticket ! I started working from July 2010. The company is a reputed Company with 200+ Employees and it's a direct placement.

one of my friend got 221g issued. he had to wait for 2 months i think but finally got it. just wait and relax. there's nothing you can do. but since your have a clean slate, you'll most likely get it.

Did they give you any slip or they just put you on hold? I had an interview on Sep 7th and still waiting. They didn't give me any slips and didn't ask for any documents. Ani came to know, consular talked to company. I have return ticket for tomorrow. I am optimistic that I may get call from today or tomorrow and fly away from this stress(I can do nothing but hope for the best).

Does anyone here know what can I do with Labor permit if I get visa by today or tomorrow?

Email embassy and stating that you need to report to your company for the project . at the project is in critical stage and you have very important role in the project and see.
That is what one of my friend did and he got call with in few days.
