Can you like me? Pretty pretty please? I really need to get some attention to elevate my mood and my confidence. Best part is this is just subliminal. I don't even have to say it. All I have to do is post something in Facebook.

Facebook the is the panacea for all attention seekers. They feel hurt when noone 'likes' their status. They feel overjoyed with a sense of accomplishment when their status, their link or their picture is liked by many. They keep tabs of the maximum number of likes they ever got and are always trying to beat that record. They post at least 3-4 profile pictures a month maybe more. Sometimes their postings tether on the edge of being socially acceptable. Some like to post interesting links but it becomes a self fulfilling chore pretty soon.

a. Look at me, I'm so smart! (I need to confirm this once in a while)
b. I am in tune with a lot! (I don't have a life so I have time to share all these links)
c. I take pictures with important people! (I go out of my way to get a pic with these people)
d. See how many vacations I go to! (I go on vacation so that I can share pics in facebook)
e. Don't you think I have to be smart or cool to say these things? (I am not sure so I have to keep trying smart sounding statements or quotes)
f. I am different! (Yes you can!)
g. I am having so much fun!!! (I want people to perceive that my life is great)
h. I am a great photographer! (I don't have a life so I take pictures of dumb things)

i. All of above and I need to get affirmation from others to assert that the above statements may be remotely true.

Welcome to the Facebook generation, who have the perfect tool to indulge in their self righteous and self agrandizing needs so inherent to normal and regular human beings. Sorry you are not exceptional no matter what kind of publicity stunt you come up with!

Sajha Onilon, do you have a blog ? I like the subtleties in your articles and the way it baffles fellow sajha readers.

However, will you have a sense of accompishment if a lot of people responded to this article ? something to think 'eh ?

Mr/ Mrs Sajha Onion,

I felt like I got wut ya really mean to dig in in ur post.... but unfortunately many of times I see people use too complicated words which really messes up the whole post. ...Dude, ur post really means something but try to be easy in ur words man.. .....showing up ur vocabulary not only put you in the odd zone but also drags ur sentences to the opposite way...
Besides, I liked it!!

Everybody likes attention. Only few are less criticised. Take a look at yourself, for example. You definitely are one attention-seeker. And my honest opinion, you deserve that attention, as you can keep the readers hooked. Now, Look around and you'll see many others who are trying hard and just making a fool out of themselves.

Facebook, IMO, is similar. Sharing is what friendship/relationships are all about. People share their lives with others, and that is what we did before social-networking websites existed too. It is now, more visible, of course. But you can maintain your visibility, or restrict from being bothered by others.

And btw, your publicity stunt is working, so you can be exceptional among Sajha users, but beyond I dont know : )

Plus the going from complicated to single points to the mental hardships that you went through during the transitional phase between 'In relationship' - 'Its complicated' - to 'single'. You have my sympathy and if you're hot maybe some love on the side)

Utsab is relaxed (Thanks for sharing but can you please include the context of being relaxed? If being 'relaxed' is an occasion to be shared in public then you are suffering from 'stress' my friend)

SO bro! good to be reading your opinion. There are much stuffs to relate that you have presented @ your plate. Lately the sickness of FB has hit my lifestyle as well. The narcissist behaviors of ego psyche are draining. It’s nice that you are aware and in-touch with consciousness. For a while vacation from FB is the status.

How much attention does ones “needs” or “seeks”!!! the limitless vague approvals/disapprovals @ FB is being beyond the daily drama of life.
