I heard they forgot about it.
In all seriousness I have heard that some of the buildings were rated for a seismic activity of 6-7 rect. scale. Not sure about most others.

 Highrise building banayera ke garnu ... Our Fire Department do not have technology to estinguish fire above 8 story building. 10th floor ma flat kinyo ani aaglagi vayo vane ta sure maaryo sathi.
