Hey guys,
I have been looking for different opportunities for a biology/chemestry major for further study. Pharm D can be one good field to study in my opinion. Based on my little bit of research, there are schools with full accredition and there are schools with accredition status candidate. I also learned that graduates of both of these kinds of schools will have equal opportunities in terms of job and license.
However, i have few questions to those who are already in Pharmacy schools or planning on going into one. Is it easier to get into schools with candidate accredition status? how likely is it to get into out of state schools? and which schools are easier in terms of admission?
The first mistake you did in your life is you chosed "BIOLOGY" as your Major. Now, I've seen many people in sajha who seem frustrated with Biology/Chemistry for future job perspective especially in the United States., unless you wanna be Doctor or Professor. I strongly suggest you to go for technical subjects like Pharmacy (that's what you're thinking about too, which is goo). If you can get into any Pharmacy School go for it, At least you can make good money in that field. If you again choose to go for MS/PHD in Biology/Chemistry, you'll work your ass off for 5 years and get nothing at the end. Maybe 45-50k/year ? or become a Professor and make 50-60k ? ?
Go for technical field or change your major now. This is the time. Act now brother. Otherwise you'll be doomed like many of us.
what major are u purana kagaz? Also those who are already a biology/chemistry major cant just switch to a technical major. Its not like changing a shuttle. Remember they have spent years and years to get here. I understand computer majors make more money. But there are other fields which make more money than computer majors. Are u gonna switch ur major and be a doctor or something else?
Its human nature to try to indulge into things that have lucrative outcomes. I dunt think it really matters. You should go for a field which u enjoy the most. Technology is good and is indeed needed in certain aspects. I would go for what i enjoy the most instead of running after the market. The job market for IT is gloomy nowadays anyway. Being a certain major doesnot necessarily preclude that its bad. But yeah money wise you are right. No hard feelings bro.just my two cents.
I am from IT background and i am happy with my Job and i enjoy it. but i m sick and tired of hearing from my close friends how much they hate Biology/Chemistry....I'd rather do MBA than doing masters or phd in Biology/Chemistry.
Good Luck.
yeah I m doing MBA now but i dunt see any silver lining yet. Better be optimistic.
