Kagbeni is a classic movie.. It gets more interesting as it goes. Movie is actually based upon an English Novel "Monkey claw" and its arguably the first Nepali thriller movie. Sano sansar is more like a tele-serial. lot of unnecessary scenes. so, u better skip some part if you wanna save time. thats what i did.. About old movies, Balidan and Prempinda are classic as well. I've heard Kanyadan, Muglan, and Numafung are good as well... All these movies are on youtube.
prempinda is classic but kagbeni lai classic bhanya chai ali pachena hai bro...
Thanks for your response. I really liked Numafung. I found Prempinda to be just so-so, imho.
Samjhana, kusume rumal, paraalko aago to name few!
Happy watching!

Basudev, Saino, Chino, kusumerumal, samjhana, prempinda, balidan, darpan chaya, badalido aakash, paralko aago, kagbeni (act and cinematography),
Sanosansar is a dumbass movie...i couldn't believe that it was directed by alok nembang.....
"balidan" is the best movie for ever.
old nepali movies are really good like Maitighar, Lahure, Chino.
New ones arent that well made - the newer new ones such as Kagbeni and Sano Sansar may lack a few things here and there but theyre a decent fare.
Sanjeevani is a good film, Dui Kinara by Tulsi Ghimire wud be a timepass. check it out on youtube.
Basudev with its perfect opening credits from Devkota's poem.
check WWW . C I N E S A N S A R . C O M for good nepali movies. I am hooked to it !
Thanks friends.
I watched Saino when I was little. I remember it being very good. Many years later, I watched it again and found it quite lacking. I guess my taste changed with age. Plus, I just could not stand Bhuwan KC flicking his hair again and again.
It seems most of the Nepali movies nowadays follow the same formula as that of Indian melodramas. Perhaps, those are the kinds that make money in general market, but unfortunately, not my cup of tea. But are there any movies from home that break this "melodrama song-and-dance dhissum-dhissum" mold?
Sano Sansar herey mailey.
Thikai raicha. Khas tyesto laagena.
Nir Shah budho jindagi bhar cinema khelera pani acting bhaney ek ratti garna nasakney rahecha. Heroni chai chwaak che, tara anuhaar bahek aru khubi uusko cha jasto lagena. or,
I hated Kagbeni for its direction. Story was ok.
Kagbeni was indeed very good... even by Hollywood standard.
Sure there were few shortcomings. The pace of the movie could've been tightened up a bit, especially at the beginning. The soundtrack was quite monotonous in most parts.
But those shortcomings became negligible with many positive notes of the movie. Acting was above par by all, Nima Rumba shines here. He flows through the movie very naturally, even better than the main protagonist. Director did an awesome job storyboarding the plot. The camera work was beautiful and well edited.
This probably ranks higher than Numafung, which makes it #1 in my books.
