I have Acer 5570Z, bought 3 years back for $399. के गर्ने साथी, सब भन्दा सस्तो त्येही थियो !
I had a service plan for until a few months back, which is now expired, so I am on my own.

The problem with the laptop started on January 2nd., when it stopped showing any signs of life, no light, no sound, no nothing. When I inserted the power cable, it would spark! I had 3 years of assignments, project work, photos and many more unnecessary things in it which I needed badly. I took the laptop to Geek Squad at Best Buy where I bought it on January 3rd to have it checked. They went over the laptop, did some diagnostics and told me it was better to buy a new laptop as there was a problem with the motherboard. If I wanted the data, it was $99 up to 5 GB and $199 for more than 5GB. I could not afford any, neither the data back up nor a new laptop.

My brother came up with a great idea and opened the laptop himself. He took out the hard drive and we headed out to Fry's to buy a SATA Box for the hard disk that could convert the hard disk to a portable hard drive! Yes, it worked, for $7.00 I was good to go again, I could connect the hard drive to any computer and still get my data. I also made a back up just in case something happens.

After about 2 weeks of leaving my lifeless laptop under the bed, gathering dust; i decided to give it to a friend who trades the parts of laptops on EBay and makes money. Seriously! But before I handed it over to him, I pressed the power button and guess what? THE LAPTOP WAS WORKING AGAIN!!! IT LIT ! MADE SOUNDS AND SHOWED SIGNS OF LIFE.

I immediately reinserted the hard drive in its place and powered the laptop again. YES IT WORKED, and for some unknown reason, the laptop seemed to perform faster and better!

My brother suggested me to renew the service plan if in case something happens, but... tyei ta ho ni ...nagadeshwori ...maru ..... kaso garu...? I did not renew the plan. The laptop worked fine day and night and I used for over 10-12 hours a day. One difference I noticed was that, the bottom of the laptop would heat a lot. I bought an external fan, which somewhat helped. But I still feared the stress I would be if the laptop died again.

And yes, it died last night! My laptop was on the roll yesterday from 9AM till 4PM at work and then again from 6 PM till 10 PM at home forwww.icefilms.info DVD quality free movies...... I shut the laptop to let it rest and cool down and went for a smoke break, promising myself long overdue movie The Hangover!

Once I restarted the laptop ------- NO SIGNS OF LIFE AGAIN !!! NO POWER LIGHT ! NO FAN SOUND ! NO BATTERY LIGHT ! AND WHEN I INSERT THE POWER CABLE TO THE POWER PIN, IT SPARKS LIKE BEFORE

लौन कुनै उपाय छ? कंप्यूटर मा दख्ख्ल भएका साथीहरु साझा मा धेरै जाना हुनु भएको ले अनुरोध छ, लौ न सहयोग गरम है! धेरै धेरै आभारी हुने थिए !

मेरो ल्यप टप बने , मरी जाऊ धरो धर्म हफ्ता हफ्तामा रामेको नया अमेरिका अनुभव लेखने थिए !

Time to buy a new one.... don't fiddle too much with that... get off all your data into external hard drive and be safe....

Looks like its a problem with your battery as other folks pointed out. You can find cheaper battery at e-bay.

I love your बम्पर उपहार: it truly reminds my stay back home...

Take out the battery.. unplug the power.. leave if for few minutes... then put the battery in, plug the power and trun it on..

Your computer has power connection issue. I am telling you I had exactly the same issue.. I bought new laptop but later i fixed the old one as well..

Your laptop works sometimes, the disconnectivity is connected in power path inside somehow...and it works.. Computer is not getting power due to some of these issues -

1. Main power adapter itself is not working/ loose connection... Try with friend's power adapter of same brand if available.

2. The power plug connection inside the computer is not working. . Open the laptop (go online search for instruction).. Some wire for power supply must have been unplugged.. Look for that..

If you were nearby me, I would like to give a look to your laptop.. and of course win the bumper prize ;)..

It is not big issue..

Remove the battery and unplug the power supply. Held down the power button for 45 seconds then reinstall the battery and power supply and push the power button again. Try this for couple of times , it might work for you. Good Luck !!

I think your DC jack is messed up, I had a friends laptop I worked on. He had the same problem at first, and one day it completely died. He brought it to me, I opened it up and replaced his (jack in )with a new one I bought online which cost $24 including shipping. If you know a friend or someone that can work on a laptop than ask them if they could replace your dc jack.
If you were in Denver, I could have helped you out.

रामे जि , अब तपाईं ले १ पोका गुन्द्रुक, केही मस्यौरा, केही तितौरा, अली कता भट्मास, सन राइज़ नेस्ट्ले कफी को पोका, टिमुर, जवानों र दाल झान्ने जिम्मु दुई हाथ मा लिएर घुन्टा टेकेर त्यो साथी लाई माफि माग्नुस् अनी उस्को चरन् मा त्यो सप्पै सामन चडौनुस्। तेस्पची साथी लाई अब देखी दिन्छु भनिसकेको कुरा दिएर छोड्नेछु भनेर बचन् दिनुस् तपाईं को ल्यापटप ठीक हुन्छ।
