i bought this iphone 3g................ it came in a never opened pack(not even the plastic cover)..........i got it for real cheap...........but i don't know whether it is locked or unlocked.........if its lock then how to unlock it.........and not to use the data plan...........i'm a ATnT customer.

As u are on AT&T i don't think u have to unlock it unless you bought it from other country .

It's not that hard if you know how to do it....... It's a series of steps to jailbreak and unlock iPhone.... But if you are trying it for the first time.... then it's tough...... Google the steps for jailbreaking and unlocking.... Well I cannot give you the name of the site coz' you know what I mean..... Sorry for that.... The point to be noted is Google Search..... That's all I can tell you for now.... And at this point all model of iPhone (2g to 3gs with latest firmware) can be unlocked.

Insert other GSM Network Sim card in your i-phone..It's locked means it will not accept other GSM Network Sim card..It's Unlocked means it accept any GSM Network Sim card...You can Unlock GSM Network locked I-Phone..You need to specify the network and country it locked now..You can get the Remote I-Phone 3G unlock service from here Mobile-unlocker.com/apple-iphone-3g/rs2wp9/ and Unlock it...

I'll help you. Try T-Mobile sim for once to check whether it's locked or unlocked.
And main thing DON'T PAY A PENNY TO UNLOCK.
