Death News

I've always escaped Death's path.

I am always away when Death comes by.

Such then is the surprise:

In my family of maddeningly frequent deaths,

I have never been in it's proximity,

I haven't embraced a dying loved body.

Death has always come as distant news to me.

From afar, I've suffered Death's routine agony.

And there is no struggle with reported news;

Just as no one defeats the air by refusing to breathe.

I have seen death,
I have felt death,
I have despised death,
I was in agony
When I lost my grandpa in my arms.
As he let go his last breath
His arms dropped so his head
I loved him so much, I still do
I still feel his existence

One day I had a dream
My grandpa was well dressed
He had small trimmed mustache
He was young again, looked happy
He was surrounded by loved ones
Who left before him
I felt better
I am happy that he is not alone

I have escaped death(s) as well, my brother
It came and stared in my eyes
I stared back with vigilance
Death might have acknowledged my love for life
I know one day he will win
Until then I am doing what I do
I make my moment count
As I know one day I have to accept him
He is not my enemy anymore
Rather a friend who reminds the value of life
Wait my friend there is no rush
I will live life the fullest
Want to leave no regrets
Even though I like you I want you to stay away from me
I don't need you now
Until I grow old and fragile!
