Do any of u guys know how cyber cafes in Nepal call US so cheap? I was approached by a guy from Nepal to share my debit card for his account and he could pay at my home .I  dont know what sites , service providers they use but he says those are genuine like skype and wouldn't do something wrong with my personal info.. Need suggestion

As far as I know, they use skype or some sites like that. If its a small amount and you want to help ur fren there, I guess, what you can do is, buy debit cards (I hope you know that you can get such cards of different prices at currency exchange) and give him the detail of the card. Not a huge risk like in credit cards.

Hope it hels !!!

here's the thing..

I donno about other calling services but i do know about Skype. I have the same thing going on, i have a friend who's got a cyber back in KTM and i got him a Skype account in my name and make monthly payments on it.
Basically i got an unlimited subscription that allows calls to be made in a number of countries for a monthly cost of $10/month which back home is ..750 NRs give or take a few hundred ...and you add a little profit of your own..and say total it out to a 1000 Nrs a month.

Now he gets  unlimited phone calls to most countries as US, Canada, UK etc for 1000 NRs (more if you increase ur profit margins) and depending on the traffic he gets at the store, makes a profit or not...either way your folks back home get a 1000 bucks  every month and a friends gets his business.

BUT, you do need a friend or a guy you trust..coz you might keep the end of your bargain and he might not..
Besides that, it's pretty okay.

Hope this helps.

Skype by far, is not a cheap alternative to phonecard use...maybe there are other calling services i donno about though..

Skype to landlines/cell phones cost from 0.35 to 0.40 cents/minute depending on where in Nepal you call.
Personally, I haven't ever called out of Ktm using Skype so can't tell you about the quality there but within Ktm, the quality is pretty good compared to the one you get with most phonecards but as you see, it comes at a price.
Besides, since the connection problems are mostly because of the inferior telecom network, you will probably experience a few losses here and there...but it's good while it lasts..

PS: In order to limit risks while using a personal Credit/Debit card, you can always get around using Paypal.

Intelle, I heard in USA husband and wife keep their card secret, learn from them. If their cyber cafe is hacked and your debit card is sold, you will be end up ............................. yourself.
