University of South Australia ,Adelaide
Any Nepali brother/sisters there. I would appreciate to know little bit about student life style.
hey duke1...i know there a few there..a fren of mine is there(already a grad and settled there)...
and regarding student lifestyle i guess i cant really say much on that..but from wat he told me then and wat i can remember(and from my own experience in a similar environment)..its quite a quiet place and pace is slow...nice environment for studyng? :oD..and yeah lots of frenly ppl(well i guess in a slow paced place..ppl do have time to notice others and be more frenly to others? :oD)
might need some time to get used to the pace(or lack of it :oP)..and i guess it all depends on one's own personality? but he def loves it..and so do i :oD..
if u also wanted some info on employment opportunities..my fren is a bit of a gaffadi (in a nice way..entertaining :oD..but still have learnt to just take his great sounding talks as just entertainment until i see it ;oP plus birds of feathers flock together hoina?so that says a lot about myself? ;oP) but he used to say he used to get so much offers/chances to work esp in the farm(not the type of farm in nepal hai ;oP) and vineyard(i think adelaide is quite famous for their wines)..and really well payn at it too :oD..
anyways hope someone whos seen it more in there replies to ur query :oD..
have a good one and good luck!:oD
(ps if u study in adelaide for 2 yrs..they do give u give u some extra points while applyn for residency, that is if u plan to apply for one :oD )
dananah,
Thank you for the information. I am looking at graduate school over there so your information will certainly help in making my decision. Looks like not a lot of Aussie Neps hangout in sajha. If you have any contact details for parties in question , let me know.
why you wanna go to Australia. Its not good as USA, i did my undergrad there....... aus is nothing like USA...its hard to get job after you finish schooling....
true just like smiti says...... hard to get job.. unless u wanna graduate and work as taxi driver, or in the farms....etc etc...
if u get job its good... but if u dont.. sucks... if u want good job, u better be top of ur class...

thats why i came to the US...it sucks really......better find a good grad school here.....anyways if you have mind set then do best in school...all the best
life is quite laid back.,, relaxed.. easy going ppl there...
on good point.. its easy to get residency there after graduating... IF u graduate with right degree.. but if u r unlucky, and aussie govt changes the majors for immigration, u will end up getting screwed for Residency reasons.
jobs are not as easy to find compared to US... but if u are smart and top of class type guy, u will do fine.
but i have seen ppl that graduated with bachelors degree there and now resident of Aussie working as taxi driver...or some other not too great job.
another big plus point, if u fly to nepal often... its very close to nepal and other asian countries...
Thank you for sharing. By the way Any of you were specifically in Adelaide ? How are the job prospects for part time student work while in graduate/masters program.
all australia is same....i was in sydney...and it was hard there...lemme ask you why australia? cant you find a good school here....i think you are making the worst decision of your life....brother/sister believe me you will miss USA...and you will regret your decision whole life.....good luck
