Elementary, my dear Watson: e.g: DJIA 13,448.86 +91.12 +0.68% Dow Jone Ind Avg is at 13,448.86 points at the time you found the info. It went up 91.12 points since the previous close of day which means that its up .68% Use same for the Nasdaq.

It means Dow - list of 30 (blue chip companies) increased in price 0.7 % from yesterdays close price. Dow is a only price index ( change in price only), where as nasdaq is a price weighted index (price along with each stocks weight on the total index) .
