We are having fight alot we kindda living like roommates sometimes he tells me to gate out from his house and all.And am planning to go live somewhere else when i asked him for divorce he said if i do so i might have to leave the country coz i have green card for 2 years its says permanent resident but am not sure if its condisnal or i don't no(it doen't say condisnal in my card) . So the thing is he told me even if i want to go live somewhere alse we should stay married for 2 years . & i wanna know all the details about my case should i stay married with this guy for 2 years even if i don't live with him or should i divorce him. . please help me make a decision. thank you.

Yes, You should stay married until 2 years and renew the green card or get citizenship. But smells like there is some 'Preplanned Stuff' here.

Yes, your GC is conditional and you will have to renew it in two years. Well, I think you can still divorce him before that but again you might need suggestion from Santosh giri or someone who knows more about these stuffs.

whats your problem? i guess the guy is not too bad, he is suggesting you to stay married until you get green card. are you afraid of losing green card or you just dont want to live with him. if you just dont wan tto live with him and you dont care about green card, then you dont need any suggestion, just leave him and go back home. however, if you want to save green card, then you both need to be married until 2 yrs. marriage is compromise, both should work out for its success. two different people will not have similar taste in everything.

There are fewer guarantees that he would go to the immigration judge and make it appearing that the marriage is genuine. This would create a problem when you go and apply for the card taking the condition away. It’s up to you what you want to do. Its also a risk factor, in 2 years you may or may not have to go to judge, or you can simply apply to take the condition away and without them noticing your status, they might do that. laborperm@gmail.com

my_lm wrote, "......we kindda living like roommates....." That is axactly the kind of living arrangement I have been looking for with a girl. I wonder why people who want such a living arrangement dont get the opportunity of such living arrangement.

I might be way off the line here, but I have seen quite a few Americans marrying girls from around the World, especially illegals...either in the USA or aboard, bring them here solely for sexual purpose.....Like I said, it might not explain the case being stated here, but I think it is becoming a trend. I know/have known atleast 10 Americans who marries a Chinese, a Vietnamese, and hispanics for the aforementioned purpose with a temptation that they will file their GC.....All the men I mentioned above are in early to late 40s.....Hope its not a trend... Like KaleKancha said, Good Luck myIm.......

KnightCrawler I have similar intentions in my mind (marrying girls from around the World) when I get my paperworks straighened up. I do prefer Southeast Asians so I guess I'll land straight in Thailand.
