Green Card after PhD..question
Hi,
If any body has any information or any link to give more information regarding the application of Green Card after a PhD degree, I would appreciate it.
Do they need work experience or somebody can apply for just having a PhD degree.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Lancer for the link.........
It was helpful!
if you are applying for green card thru employment, with your pHD , you fall under EB2.
FOR EB2, it requires 5 yrs of work experience in your speality field after your undergrad studies.( in most cases without counting the experience at the employer who is sponsoring you) sometimes they will even go as far as asking documentation for 10 yrs of progressive work experience.
Good Luck
as per my knowledge:
1) if you have enough publications and/or patents then you can apply for extraordinary group right away. one of my acquaintances got it approved in 17 DAYS!!!!
2) go for post docs or asst. proff positions, you can apply right away.
3) if you go for company jobs, it will depend upon company's policy and interests.
if you are unemployed, even then i will say go for it. if you have good research in your phd, then you may get it.
g'luck
