The king of Mustng is a Mongol. But the cunning Bahuns have given him Bista as a title so that their historians may mislead the coming generation by falsely claiming a Hindu rule in Mustang, a remote mountain region of northern Nepal. Bista is a family title of Bahun and Cheri(64).
Ain't we thru' with these racial propogandas on Sajha.....Some people just don't get enough of it I guess ! Nothing against you Mr. Kakababa, but I don't think the new generation really cares about the caste system as much as our forefathers did.....

May be the issue is not the bahuns saying whatever they wanna say but may be the real issue is the idiots who believe on what u are told by the bahuns. ani newar hero you probably diont know the meaning of democracy. Yes in democracy you have freedom of speech but cannot make inflammatory remark to particular group. I remember one lady on the radio made such commnets on phone about international student here in britian with two three minutes she was apprehended by police.

People like Newar hero think they can say whatever they want, whenever they want, whereever they want....I'm with you Mr. Bidhan...Democracy does not allow inflammatory, degrading and racial remarks made on a public forum with a malicious intent.... If Mustang wa not conquered by Nepal it would have lost all its heritage and culture to the chinese communist. that is a fact: there was a documentry on PBS about saving some artwork in monastery in mustang. The Mustang king has all the privileges and nepal government doesnot interfere in their society. their religion was preserved (a form of buddhism) because nepal claimed it as a territory and china having a good relation with nepal did not interfere.
i would cahnge my name to BISTA anyday if my culture and heritage is saved from an invading communist.
BTW do you know that the surname KHAN comes from Gengiz Khan the famous king of Mongolia. That is as mongol as one can get. But have you seen Khans today they look anything BUTt Mongol. so should they change their last names now?
forgot to mention an important fact: the artwork in the monasteries in mustang were done mostly by our very talented and artistic newari brothers of kathmandu.

as far as any body can lead well the others should follow .... i think bahuns were clever and talented earliers sho others follow them and slowly it becaame a tradition folloing bahuns as senior ... i rather prefer a good leading of people no matter which caste you are of ........

And the oppressors shall be punished, no matter what jaat he or she is... But unfortunately, everybody knows that historically the oppresors have been so called high-ranking thakuri and chhetri...the ranas who set the country 200yrs behind....by stopping education and enslaving people....

Stop being racist. Nobody deserves to rule by caste. It takes guts and ability to lead and come in the forefront and tell that you are capable to rule and your determination and plans to be believed by people.
All leaders from KTM are voted by nyaars but they are mostly Brahmans. Anything that happens politically to Nepal is blamed to Brahmans. But what about the non-political forces that effect a country? Political unrest results to poor tourism industry but what about black marketting, communal ideologies and acts of non co-operative behaviors?
