Dear frens ... This is a valid subject to discuss and worry upon rather than other issues at present(like FIFA/Movies and all). Try to see where we stand first. I tried to attach one PPT for all of you, but this server only accepts JPG and gif files. If any one wants ppt then do send me a mail. After goin throught he Presentation, I Guess you won't say : its enough for this topic and useless to fight against secularism of NEPAL. See the condition of INDIA. And try to forsee what exactly NEPAL is heading towards. Thanks

majority of people in nepal are worried about making enough money to feel themself, and make a future for their kids and family, have a decent living standard and better opportunity, be it a secular nation or hindu kingdom, that merely does anything for us.

i am not going to say wether seculaism is bad nor i am going to say hindu country is good because we had enough discussion on this. I am just going to say this: when u decide on something ,it is just doesn't affect only one group it affects another too.If someone decide to decide something then they need to consider all the variables, evaluate pros and cons.If they feel pros is better than cons .they it should be formalized in very democratic way so that people get true democracy and their is no finger pointing.May this decision be hindu or secular.

The point is, why do you need democracy? So that your corrupt politicians and terrorists can plunder Nepal more...we need a powerful monarchy which will be guinded by some real powerful and honest and hardworking people (Panchas or Ministers)...these Ministers will be elected by people (which will be the democratic elections)... democracy will lead to anarchy in Nepal...we have seen enough of it.

Dear Educated (mostly western based I believe), Well, being Nepali, it is not the time to keep on discussing same old crap about Hinduism, Caste system, King, Racism, Discrimination etc. etc. all the time which leads us nowhere and gaining nothing. It is good that finally we almost got rid of King at least for now, it is beginning of new Era for each and every Nepalis from all the nook and corners and all races and tribes to be true diginified Nepali. Religion and custom is for individuals and their own family and community to keep in social harmony. Being Secular Nepal is the most suited at this juncture of Nepal, the far and foremost requirment is the NEED OF INCLUSIVE DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM where all could take part and have a saying in decision making for the benefit to alll being Nepali first. Being Hindu, Buddhists, Christian, Muslim or whatever other religion one choose to follow it is matter of personel perception, we should respect that individualism. MAKE SYSTEM CREATE THE ENVIRNMENT FOR AND WORK HARD, GENERATE PROPER TAX SYSTEM TO SUSTAIN ECONOMY SOTHAT EVERYBODY HAS THE FAIR CHANCE OF SURVIVAL AND UPLIFTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUAL, SOCIETY AND NEPAL AS WHOLE. We should from now on distance the State with Religion and first check the mal practices, corruption of the whole Government System through new Constitutional Assembly to check each and every tyrant, undemocratic, criminal elements including all political parties now specially Security Aparatus and Maobadis. Regarding the moving Capital and establish elsewhere it will not be so easy to do but I agree in this respect. Once should gradually make proper INFRASTRUCTURES in phase wise in all other GEOGRAPHICAL SECTORS specially MID WEST AND WESTERN PART OF NEPAL. Then gradually in phase we should indeed shift the Capital or Administrative Centre for experiment or decentralise the power into Federal Government representing in respective region and development sectors looking into local and regional requirements. Kathmandu is too crowded, polluted and too elite power centric, we need to change this SECENARIO ONCE AND FOR ALL. But it will not be as easy as some friends want to see without proper developmental assessement and build up. Perharps English should be made the lingua franca as in India for all Government and judicial and administrative purpose in PHASE and uplift NATIVE AND REGIONAL LANGUAGES PRIORITY so that there won't be any domination of few percentage of people whos mother tongue HAPPENS TO BE KHAS NEPALI and will AUTOMATICALLY CREATE SENSE of belongingness as well as competence. Well rest I believe FRIENDS know better to add further necessary steps which will benefit all FIRST AS NEPALI. JAI NEPAL AND NEPALI

FYI... Source: ekantipur.com Muslim girl recites verses from Ramayana BY SHANKAR ACHARYA BARA, July 14 - A nine-year old girl Thursday mesmerized listeners on the occasion of 193rd birth anniversary of renowned poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya by her recital of verses of epic Ramayana in proper tempo and rhythm. What amazed the listeners is that she is a Muslim girl. But Sanjita Iftekhar, a fourth grader at Bright Land Boarding School here in Kalaiya, not only received a big round of applause but also won everyone's heart at the end of a poem recitation competition, organized by the school on the day. "It was an astonishing act in itself as a Muslim girl recited the verses of a holy book of another religion, that too in the exact rhythm and tempo," said Roshanraj Aryal, who was also present during the program. "At a time when some extremist groups have been creating disturbance over the secular state issue, Iftekhar's presentation is a great lesson of respect and religious tolerance," said Kiran Acharya, the program coordinator and a teacher of the school. According to Acharya, the school had organized the program with a view to inculcating in students the respect and tolerance towards the members of different religions and communities right from the school level itself. "We can't bind poet Bhanu within limitations of religion, caste and other groups," Sanjita Iftekhar said, adding, "After all he is common property of all Nepalis." ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Felt good reading this news early in the morning. Thanks.

Panditraj ji actually I wasn't talking about the destruction of Hinduism in Nepal... I was actually talking about clash between different religions in Nepal. Afterall that's what happened between India and Pakistan.
