.officially, the catholic church is against all forms of contraception, including condoms. it was only a couple of weeks ago that the catholic church started to loosen its policy vis-a-vis condoms for the explicit purpose of preventing the spread of AIDS in africa. all other use of condoms is still banned by the church. well, not all catholics follow all of the vatican edicts, of course. and in south america, even the churches get away with bending the wishes of the vatican. however, i doubt that there is a single catholic church in the US that distributes condoms. there used to be a government program for condom distribution, but GWBush's gov't decided to scrap it and instead decided to preach "abstinence". so now i support the Fund proposed by Rastabahadur to help guccha
