f you think about the population of bauns - they only represent 10-12 % of the total population ( less than chhetris who are around 20%). Yet you see bauns occupying all govt positions and getting involved in corruptions. Majority of people caught by CIAA were bahuns. They not only extract money doing traditional work of worshiping and collecting daan(which only bauns are said to be doing) but have occupied all political positions too which the other casts have learnt to despise. We as chhetris grew up hearing politics is dirty. It may be true for other casts too. But not for bahuns because their forefathers were always involved in daan collecting business. So taking bribes is never dirty for them. I am reminded of the same situation many years ago when bauns occupied politics in Tamil Nadu. Then came the united non bauns as DMK (leaded by Ramachandran) with nothing else but basically just anti baun slogans and have made the bauns vanish now. The DMK has been winning for several years now just on the basis of anti baun rallying. One day Nepal may see the same change and the country may be purified of all the poisons harming Nepal.

For 200 years, the Ranas/thakuris have suppressed people of all ethnicities--not just magars, rais, tamangs, and newars, but also bahuns as well. For example, when a bahun decided to go against a thakuri, his caste would be stripped. This was what I learned in my 4th grade course back when I was in Nepal. If the Raja is a bahun, I'll give you a cookie. He's the one respnsible for Nepal's current condition. Bahuns have been in "power" for only a decade, at best, all though democratic actions.Who votes for these bahuns? The common Nepali folks. If they want someone else to be in power, they have the prerogative to do so--nobody is holding a gun to their foreheads and begging them to vote for bahuns. Do you know who formulated the "caste code", so to speak--i.e. who is an untouchable "shudra" and who's a "touchable" shudra? Look it up, it was standardized by a Rana, a thakuri. Second, it's obvious that you are living in the past. You want to bring back the caste system. You feel that Chettris are "warriors" by profession, meaning that this automatically qualifies them to lord over Nepalis of ethnicities, including bahuns. It doesn't work that way anymore, buddy, this is the 21st century. It seems like you've been living in the 18th century. Bahuns may be priests by profession, but through hard work, they have risen to power. There is really no nepotism involved here. Look at this picture, folks. These are all thakuris. Not even one bahun. These are the types of people who suppressed Nepalis for decades. These are mostly thakuris of course

"Only profession monopolized by cast is purohit profession and bauns should be scrapped of that". I don't know where you got this from... As far as I know, Newars have their own priests, so do many Mongoloid clans... Despite that, if many prefer bahun priests over their own and call them for their yagna and pujas, I don't see anything wrong with that..... "In the history of India particularly South India, it was the bauns who wiped away Buddhism from that part". If you go through the history of India, Millions of Hindus were wiped out by Muslims and another millions were forced to convert... Now if you really apply the Indian *wiping away* theory to a nation like Nepal, then our fellow muslim Nepalis deserve the same fate that those South Indian Brahmins got.... But I don't think we ever think of doing that because we know we are different and so are our muslim brothers.... Same goes for Brahmins of Nepal too... It's not like all Brahmins are bad or all Newars are bad...There are some bad and some good everywhere... But let's not generalize all of them and let's not divide ourselves on the base of race, gender, religion or ethnicity.... Brahmins to an extent deserved to be where they are today... When there was no education prevalent in Nepal, they went abroad for their studies... Education makes all the difference and it made a difference in the group too.. They became more aware about the nation and they could differentiate between what was right and what was wrong.. They knew it all so they became the leaders and rest of us followed.... There is no caste more powerful than the other... But, if we keep whining like this, we are doing no more than proving that Brahmins are superior to others indeed.... To get what they have today, we ought to work for it.... In fact work much harder than what they did then when there was not really any competitiion because now it's a different story altogether... Be it any caste or group of people, nobody likes to give their power, status, name or fame that EASILY.... If we were where Brahmins are today, even we would like to keep everything to ourselves... It's a pure human nature to be selfish... So it's not at all about Brahmins giving their enjoyed privileges to others... It's about "others" asking, fighting or working to get where they are....

It seems that sajha administrator are agains other caste and they are comminal. They removed all the thread against Newar and other caste do not have right to defend themseves. They are not removing such bad picture. I am happy to read alots of thead against caste system but where were this mentality before we created the threads against Newar. If sajha is only for newar why do not you change your name sajha.com to newarjyapu.com. I posted thread that Newar ko buddi hudaina, that seems true, if they have courage come and defend with us. We all are against Newar. My word to administrator is that either remove all the thread against caste or stop removing my thread and let Newar defend.

The only way to tackle badmouthing can be learnt from the following story. A Brahmin Story Author: Unknown Lord Buddha was sitting under a banyan tree. One day, a furious Brahmin came to him and started abusing him. The Brahmin thought that Buddha would reciprocate in the same manner, but to his utter surprise, there was not the slightest change in the expression on his face. Now, the Brahmin became more furious. He hurled more and more abuses at Buddha. However, Buddha was completely unmoved. Actually there was a look of compassion on his face. Ultimately the Brahmin was tired of abusing him. He asked, "I have been abusing you like anything, but why are you not angry at all ?" Lord Buddha calmly replied, "My dear brother, I have not accepted a single abuse from you." "But you heard all of them, didn't you?" The Brahmin argued half-heartedly. Buddha said, "I do not need the abuses, so why should I even hear them?" Now the Brahmin was even more puzzled. He could not understand the calm reply from Buddha. Looking at his disturbed face, Buddha further explained, "All those abuses remain with you." "It cannot be possible. I have hurled all of them at you," the Brahmin persisted. Buddha calmly repeated his reply, "But I have not accepted even a single abuse from you ! Dear brother, suppose you give some coins to somebody, and if he does not accept them, with whom will those coins remain?" The Brahmin replied, "If I have given the coins and not needed by someone, then naturally they would remain with me." With a meaningful smile on his face, Buddha said, "Now you are right. The same has happened with your abuses. You came here and hurled abuses at me, but I have not accepted a single abuse from you. Hence, all those abuses remain with you only. So there is no reason to be angry with you." The Brahmin remained speechless. He was ashamed of his behavior and begged for Buddha's forgiveness. Inner calmness and peace are keys to contented life. Seriousely, I am not sure why the Brahmin was furious with Buddha at that time
