Having been following the the current revolution in Nepal and the discussions in Sajha, I wonder why we can't agree on one aspect.
1. Reinstating House of Representatives is out of question
(they have run out of their 5 year term)
(King has run out of his 6 months term, a long long ago)
2. Constitution Assembly
(current constitution clearly states that 2/3 majority of parliament is required to ammend it)
(when are we going to have parliament?)
3. National Refrendum
(Lets decide it by ballot whether we want constitution assembly or not)
Whom do you think would win? King or SPA + MB???
If everyone has guts then we should go for it with UN supervision. Government can't conduct it because of probability of manipulation.
That is exactly what the SPA and maoists are saying. Lets go for Election of Constitutional Assembly under UN supervision. If UN says the election is free and fair, they are ready to accept its result. So, why is the king afraid? Afterall, in democracy, u have to listen to the voices of people.
its not black and white jasto malai lagcha hai..
large population of nepal is stil illterate..how would they know what is politically sound for us...say fifty years down the road?
