There was a big brawl in ANA convention between Minnesota and Dallas group. They even vandalized Marriott Hotel where they are staying. That?s great! We proud Nepalese (Gorkhaz) deserve it.

Not surprising and not unexpected (not unnatural as well)...cuz there is far bigger fight going in Nepal within Nepalese. Mao, anti-mao, king, anti-king, parties, anti parties..etc.

don't wanna be a smart alec but if you are worried about syntax... BRAWL = (nepali guy) && (alcohol) && ( issue == nepali keti ) or..... BRAWL = true; (nepali guy) && (alcohol) && ( issue == nepali keti ) == BRAWL sorry....when one codes for a living one can easily pick these up...

Ma ta dikka bhaye newuser ji jata heree pani mara kaat jhagada yo ramro tyo naramro kuta-koot internet ma heryo nepali daju bhai ma tyehi aba ke bhanne? kaslai bhanne kallai nabhanne? tapai nai bhannoos ta. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wholeheartly agree! I dont know why people like to pull each others legs for no reason. And teh funny thing is some people cant digest their food till they get the chance to talk about others or bitch them. Why cant we sometimes learn to ignore certain things and walk away. But then again the funny thing is if you do that then you are a loser re hmmmm. Testo ta sochai cha. Duhhhhh. Thats why I never join any crowd, Im fine where I am and that alone.

I guess its the universal rule...to end any nepali program with a bang, these fellas have to fight! i havne't seen any, that ended peacefully! in worst case i have seen few people arrested by cops as well, and resisting the arrest. that was some funny situation in VA 2 years ago. aha..i crak up when i think about that dude..in pure nepali accent.. he said, LEYT ME GO..I DIDANT DO YANITHING. hhaah..thanks to beer, and stupidity, he spent 5 days in jail! :P

Wow 900 views for this thread! Remarkable! It shows we are concerned. If only Nepalis could stop bitching and talking shit about others, I think we'd greatly improve as civilized immigrants. I've been hearing a lot about gatherings where Nepalis fight over trivial issues such as what kind of music is being played and who's a better drummer! Give me a break! Me - I am fine with a limited number of friends I have.... the Nepali kind :)

Dallas n Minnesota Brawl: A Fiasco in umpiring n rules enforcement by ANA Sports Committee. Pre-Brawl Status: Dallas ( 0 Yellow Card) ; Minnesota ( 2 Yellow Cards) Minnesota players pushes Dallas players at two different times. However, the pushes get overlooked just by yellow card citations. Brawl Progress(Scene by Scene): 1) Minnesota player(14) pushes Dallas player(10) for the third time. The bullying nature of Minnesota players( perhaps coz of their size) reaches to a new height. 2) There is a standoff between the two for 10 seconds. One Dallas player reaches them to end the hostility but MN player(14) swings at him. He gets hit. 3) Now the brawl has started. Dallas players run towards the scene n exchange a few blows. 6-8 total players seem to get engaged in the 30 second brawl. No. 14(MN) is hurt. He backs off seeking medical attention. 4) No. 14(MN) and No. 10(Dallas) receive red cards. 5) The police interferes. Asks the two to leave the property. They note down the names and no. of the players involved in the brawl and prepare a report. 6) The game is dismissed with the score: Minnesota 2, Dallas 1 and 23 minutes remaining in the second half.

One very important fact to add, the brawl was LIMITED AT THE FIELD. There was no vandalization at the hotel, apart from the regular stuffs that goes when young guns are crowded in a small hotel. Stop spreading rumors. There were hardly any fights or vandalization that took place except for that soccer incident. Even the soccer incident was limited to less than a minute. This kind of incident is common in a soccer match, not just among Nepalese but of players of all origins. STOP CATEGORIZING NEPALESE!!! and stop the stupid rumors.

My last comment was for Kiddo and i think u made good job by intervening and pointing out relatively trivial issue among Nepalese. Nut

Right on Nut Just to close this issue off, the next day Dallas and Minnesotta forfeit their match (because of the organizing committee's inability to decisively declare a winner and Dallas' reluctance to play as they opioned that they were supposed to be in the final, I don't want to judge here who deserved what). However, both team shook hands and hopefully the issue was closed. The brawl was becasuse of an individual player failing to control the emotions, so the entire Dallas or MN team shouldn't be categorized into foul category.

Hopefully, no one was injured seriously. Maybe there is already an ANA policy for attendees' conduct that includes zero tolerance for such behavior? If not, there should be one, at least a behavioral code of conduct contract that sporting event participants must sign in advance. Violators should face appropriate penalties, up to and including expulsion from ANA or multiyear suspensions from certain specific events or all ANA events. I'd hate to think that local police authorities would have to get involved in intramural Nepali squabbles; Lord knows they have FAR more important emergencies to attend to. Perhaps in the future, starting with ANA 2006, local law enforcement authorities and convention site management should be notified in advance to expect trouble, so that they may allocate their respective resources more effectively. Anyhow, I hope most participants had a safe, enjoyable experience this year.
