हरे!! Well it depends on what kinda "confusion" When they come home, its a different world for them. When they go to school, its different. Their parents try to teach them nepali culture and values etc., which, unless they live in virginia, or texas (densly populalted by Nepalese), could be very confusing to them. Well, its not about the skin color, its about the environment where they are raised in. The "cultural difference" between their friends and family. Most of have to "act" different at home, coz their parents want them to. Well some of em appreciate their parents for caring abt them so much, and teaching their original values etc. Some of them kinda get frustrated. Sorry abt all the spelling and grammarikdjftical errors. Thank you vey much and... ofcourse, प्रणाम्

Hey but who's complaining. We get free lessons in bhangra, Reggae n hip hop, and occasionally a flitty, confused grinding too :). I don't wanna be pakhey dancing in lok geet and all..... How come dancing in Lok Geet and all is being PAKHEY? You my friend if Indians have thought just like u than whould u be dancing in Bhangra beat rite now? nope. It seems you are not ABCN if u were than you wouldn't have said that. When they come home, its a different world for them. When they go to school, its different. Their parents try to teach them nepali culture and values etc., which, unless they live in virginia, or texas (densly populalted by Nepalese), could be very confusing to them You are absolutely right but what is the guarentee that growing up in this place makes u much familier with Nepali culture. It all comes to how the parents approach to their kids to teach Nepali culture. As some of us have seen that some Nepali parents bragging that their kids don't know how to speak Nepali as if its some acheivment. At last it goes to both end what is the approach of one halves and how the ohter halves takes it. But i do somewhat agree with Snurp that just showing some nepali movie dance number and eating MOMO and Choyola in Nepali party won't be much help to ABCN's. BTW its cycle Nepali Immigrants have different prespective of ABCN, so the ppl who are living in Nepal holds for those students and immigrants. Its just so funny why we are so divided? why don't we understand our strength? Have to go no further than india to get example how NRI have contributed for her developement.

I am talking esp. about the 2nd generation cause I think they will have to juggle through two culture at the same time. One at home where their parents try to groom them with Nepali culture. Other culture coming out from their peers. Hey methodman, what you gonna do with ur life being so negative all the time? Pls seek professional help. It can be cured. If u really want it, we all can contribute through this forum...I am ready to be the first one.....

Lol snurp .... your last comment was funny...i got tht.haha. Well mostly people who are away from Nepal living in foreign soil,we don't celebrate our own festivals and culture thinking tht we are in foreign land and again when there comes festival like christmas and easters, we donot celebrate thinking that it's not our culture or a festival.Or other ways we try to celebrate every ours and awell as theirs festivals and traditions. In between that we mix up as pendulam...Like( dhobi ka kutaa na ghar ka na ghat ka). Though i belive in to love your country u have to leave your country atleast once in your life time.Once you are in foreign soil and when one treats you the way and makes u relaise that u are not among them ..then that time u get that feeling who your are and where you from. nivaN

I stole this fresh-off-the-boat nepali's rolex a couple of years ago. This Nepali munchikin, who went to the same highschool I did(but we hung with different crowds), smelled like dead fish. His body odor was so bad that skunks woulda run away had they crossed this douchebag's path, trust me on that. He had this typical unkempt South Asian look, and sleeked his hair with what smelled like coconut oil. His curry accent was so thick that I coulda cut it with a knife if I wanted to. I also should mention that he loved to wear these beads around his neck, in reverence to "Shiva". His lunch consisted of this yellow looking round thingie he called "Laddoo" and these malodorous lumpy looking thingie he called "dhido". He was so proud of his Nepali heritage that he always carried a Nepali flag in his shirt pocket. And he had this red dot-like thingie on his forehead. I asked him once, "What's the dot for? Target practice?", and he starts laughing. Holy crap, does this guy ever brush his teeth? The odor was so bad that I thought perhaps this guy ate his own defecation for lunch. Oh, and that shrill laughter could drive anybody mad. But I tolerated all these things, but he went too far once. Everytime they played the star spangled banner, we all stood up, but this foreigner had the gall to sit down, stolidly, like he didn't give a rip about America. Then it dawned upon me that this dingbat was never an American at heart, and I knew I had to teach this miserable lowlife a lesson. So my buddies and I contrived a scheme so twisted and evil that even Satan himself woulda turned his back on us. This guy just loved to flaunt his rolex, like he was the only person in the entire school to own one. His parents supposedly gave it to him, and he had mentioned that it was the only thing that kept him from going insane in a foreign world. So we were at the gym, and get a load of this: this guy supposedly had never taken shower at the gym! What a dunderhead. So we accost this guy and tell him that he's been missing an experience of a lifetime by not taking a shower at the gym. His rejoinder, obviously was, "I do not want to get my rolex wet". So we offered to take it for safekeeping. At first he didn't like the idea, but one my good buddies has way with words, and he was able to convince the midget that we were good people. So he gives us his rollie and heads to take a shower. We throw his rollie in the trash can. Once he came out, he asked for his watch, but we just acted like he never gave it to us. The poor guy was about to burst in tears. LMAOOOOOOOOO. Good bless America. *gets teary-eyed*

That story is really disgusting. It's not about being ABCD here. You are a heartless human being period. After a few years, normal people have remorse with behaviors they make in life. You, Nepal_con, gloat about it after all those years. You are not "American" and never will be :P

Nerve wracking stuff. It's rather difficult for me to discern what Nepalicon is trying to reveal from his anecdote but it seems he is mocking at someone else, if not, to his own predecessor. Let me tell you one thing you GM Nepali, if you had been the other guy and vice versa, you would smell like a deadfish but still he wouldn't behave so sinisterly. You boastful GM crap, I am rather disgusted to know that a human being even exists in you. Shame on your fortunes and the 2200 you got in GRE. JK, don't take it seriously though.Guys, let me take a shower now. Nepcon you better deodorize yourself.
