12/12/04 Dead, I was! Flying, speeding, careening through space. My car, competing with the speed of earth! Ask me, About centripetal force, it contained my bubble of oxygen. Ask me, About centrifugal force, It gave me momentum. When bungee jumping has no anchor, Free falling means a glimpse of the black hole. Can the speed of thought be measured? Not by the speed of light nor by the depths of space. Seatbelt not gravity anchored my fetal form. Suspended in midair, Upside down, an astronaut in his final moments on earth. Release me from this paralysis, Like a Volvo ad, allow me to step out with a volvo grin on my face. Boy, what a demo; the dummy survived! Not me! A writer?s coma writ white on a blank page. My silver nail polish glitters on lifeless fingers. Strange, how the morning light shines a pale yellow light. I?m not blinded, t?is the color of my eyelids, Translucent, warm sunlight filtered through a maze of capillaries. Pulsating in split seconds, each fraction the length of eternity. Eternity devoid of time, how long? Breath, a snuff of life, how fragile! Spirit, watching in fascination? Oh how beautiful is the shattering of glass in slow motion! Like the spray of ocean stinging in sugary texture. My soul whispers ? Oh powers of the universe, protect me!? That spit of enlightenment: Let me die for I see no blood, Just my glittering nail polish; Strange how it matches perfectly The glittering shards gleaming in the morning sun, my source of life, my source of light. Like the palate of dried paints; swirled in abandon, Leashing my emotions and coloring my seconds. If I could, I?d paint time, space and death in all their glory Using the prisms of my fragmented windshield fracture the rays into brilliant smithereens, life?s last attempt to capture the ticking seconds Strange, how beauty exists even in death. ************************************************ I wish everyone a safe holiday season. May the powers of the universe protect you!

Life is purposedly filled with all these co-incidences. Sitaraji, wishing you speedy physical, emotional recovery (if any), well nicely penned close encounter naration. Reminds of the saying "Moreko Bholi Dui Din". You were purposely spared to fullfill your assignments and this turning point was just to make you aware that you are valuable, and life is but just a bubble it is only a matter of time only for every bubble to brust. Happy and yes as you mentioned safe festive season aheads to everyone.

SITARA jee, Sorry to hear about the ordeal you went through.I have been to a couple of accidents myself.Even though they could be, they hadn't been major ones.I think it's the second chance (life) you got to do many more good things in the future. Worst accidents, which we survive, bring one strange and weird type of happiness. We feel lucky to be alive. We get a chance to realize that so much worst could have happened. Feel better and stronger than ever. Cheers ! DP

"am grateful and happy for receiving so much from friends, family and the UNIVERSE "- Sitara knows aliens too? Or Guardian Angel/diety from somewhere up there making phone calls, sending emails/sms? :-).

Thank you friends for your good wishes; appreciate your stopping by to read and type down some comments. TMA, the Universe contains us no? At least, that's what I believe. :) Isolated Freak: Yep, the aliens saved me! :))) Confused, that was the first thing that crossed my mind... calling you up from the spirit world! :p Ashu: Thanks about the writing program (you know who planted that seed! :); it would be ironic if I suddenly hit a writer's block!

SITARA, dont take me wrong.........it was a year of 1994 when i was visitng Uli khola.....whichi is miles away from palpa through ridi.........very rough road. I was with my thakali frens and uncle. I was visiting my uncle. I get down on Gulmi taksar and then i took this tactor which is only means of transpotation. When we were travelling .....i was next to driver.........all of a sudden tractor leans to cliff hanging half part on clif which may fall down 60 feet and onto river. Everyone from tractor jumped but i was too young. I was lucky coz my driver jumb grabing me .........and tractor was in river....... tell me what do u think?......since then i became different human being thanks to god .... jai sabda cintan

I really need to print out this poem and do a thorough reading. Without that I cannot make it out at all (the pretext did help me). All are already gaga and hah-hoo and I don't have a clue! Recently I have been encouraged by some folks here with distinctive writings. Now a days I seldom read others' poems, poetry, novels, stories unless it is a datasheet or manual, or newspaper. Maybe I need to hide these poems inside my manuals and read them; that way my boss won't be disappointed by me cheating his work hours. And also try to build my vocabulary. How do you guys end up with words not found in the common dictionaries! I know we throw some Neprican words right and left once in a while, and sometimes they go up in the air, and some of those words do go nicely into my ears without a hiss. Maybe I need to remember words on a regular basis. It is getting more and more difficult for me to understand some postings here. It all shows how little I read. I should read comics, short stories, stories, novels, poems and poetry more often. This wasn't the case when I used to read those fictions from the British Council, or comics or novels; at least I now think so. Maybe now I speak more languages and they are getting in the way. Or maybe not. Oh how much I thank the online dictionary built into Sajha!

test, same problem here, i sud have only read the books that i was assigned in skool to read, maybe those books wud have helped me better my english language... Sitara, no need for u to call me up frm the spirit world, if thats the case let me just survive with a broken heart ooh by the way, read ur short piece on Nation Weekly. Cudnt find humor in it, but it was definately charged with emotions. going thru such experience is really "something", it brings so much thought in one's mind - both useful and useless. Those thoughts, some of them are so precious and they make us aware of things that we need to do in life and some are just plain naive-ly bogus which only scare our already scared soul. For now, wish u and the little mam of urs very happy life and happy holidays -together, and pray that the Will u have survived to write only be used after a looooooooong looooooooong period of time. p.s - since in reality you arent living in another world, but still living lively here with me in this material world, DO RING ME UP :)
