It is believed that Kiwis took Rodhodendron to Christchurch for reasearch purpose at University Of Canterbury few decades ago, i heard. They have a place called ilam ( ILAM) , where the University is, in Christchurch, which is believed to have come from Nepal. I have heard that from Kiwis.
Nice pics.
Dear R & M,
I dont know the history of the whole rhododendron things.
But in fact that picture is of the rhododendron from Ilam ( a suburb of Christchurch , ofcourse where the University of Canterbury is located).
I clicked that pic in Ilam Garden, near to the univ. accomodation I live called Ilam Village.
Cheers!!
A lot of the t.v. shows and movies like Zena and Lord of the Riings use the sceneries.
Do the locals in New Zealand worry about skin cancer in summer ??
Oh WOW.
That picture looked very familiar to me. It clicked to me when i saw that first, it is some where near UC.
