How can I have Fiddleheads in Texas?

I Sajhaits,
Would you know if there are options to get Fiddleheads in Texas? Niuro or Ningro (Fiddlehead fern) is one of the most popular wild vegetables widely consumed all over Nepal. I heard month of April May is the season.

Welcome Back, not seen your post for a long time.

Whole Foods sales but not available on all stores, depends on demand and location. If you have Central Market in your town/city they have it. But it is little expensive, $49 per pound. If you live in New England area you need to go to Market Basket.

Yes, mid-spring season is usually good time to harvest fiddlehead fern.

They usually like to grow around places where there is good source of flowing water most of the time like near river banks and water streams. However this fact also makes it difficult and potentially dangerous to those trying to harvest it.

@logan where did you buy it? We used to get it in Russo's at Watertown, MA but the shop is closed forever. Tried the packaged one from H-Mart and is not that tasty.

According to Bostonian friend he goes to Market Basket and surprisingly their price is just 6.99 per pound. Chinese grocery stores may sell it? I live in different state and paid 15.99 per pound.
Texas resident has to check the Central Market.
