Hello,

I am Nepali US citizen and I am planning to traveling to India from Nepal Border. I read Indian visa only allows entry for airport entry. Does anyone know if they will accept the eVisa at the border? Or do they even check your passport at the border if I look Nepali?

I also have Nepali Nagarita but only photo copy. Thank you for taking time to read!

They will not check if you look like Nepali. They simply do not have any system nor infrastructure at both sides to go into that level of deep checking. If they stop you, just politely tell them that you are a Nepali and you are good to go. Just be aware that there are big potholes in the no-mans land that you might fell and break your bones.

I hate to be devil's advocate and most of the time it dont even matter but i still want to say becareful. Im not sure where i saw this, could be sajha or other platform but it was about some Bhutani Nepalis with American passport sent to jail for crossing border from silgudi. Please dont quote me on this i just want to say be careful and do proper research.

Just for the information,
I have many friends with US Citizen travelled back and forth from nepal to india or india to nepal and even by plane showing nepali nagarikta. Should not be an issue if you have any nepali form of id Card, Nagarikta is best and if you nepali passport has not expired. you can still use it. They do not have any way of tracking method that you do have US Passport.

By the way, you can follow Ravi's example! While on his relationship visa in Nepal, he reapplied for a Nepalese passport! In India, I would recommend keeping a nageikta handy, especially for road trips. The best part is that you can always speak Hindi
