Independent,
Commend your effort to provoke some thoughts. Though I do think, that sometimes, we have to be taught some courses that may not attribute in any way to your professional life later. For example I remember taking classes on Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. I do not do anything even far related in any way to these courses, but they gave me awareness about many directions that one can go as a professional. At least I can talk about them if someone brings up a topic.
But until you are fully aware and knowledgeable enough to make your own decisions, general aid courses are needed, aren't they?
Your article reminded me of that movie, "Accepted". It might be something utopian, but still "do-able".
My two cents.

There has been clear attempts by the aristocrats and elites to dumb down the population so as to yield a docile population. Rockefeller clearly gave millions during his time which is probably like billions in this day and age. A dumbed down populations does not question anything but accept, obey and comply. In this way, the elites can continue to live their lives of lavishness while the common man toils for his daily bread, while at the same time being grateful to the elites who are in fact abusing them for their own benefit.

The whole world is a "job oriented society." Do you think Nepal has a better education system?

Nepal's education is a legacy or a copy of matrix system of India imposed to make Indians of colonized mindset since 1835. Most of the education system in the world, Western education I mean, is definitely a result of industrual revolution hence to create workers. But even there, the elite has to have a "master" education for their kids. So there are two types for sure. Unlike the West, the Gurukul system before the colonization by Muslims and the British functioned in a much different way, based on individual talent and free for all, supported by the community. The literacy rate when the West came here was 97%+ with 100 percent in South India. Rana regime totally screwed up Nepal and we are still suffering the consequences. The positive thing about US is the Liberal Arts education that gives a broad base of knowledge for the first two years, and then the specialization into your major afterwards. To change Nepal, the current education system has to be changed completely, including the syllabus and the whole approach.
