King Mahendra's Alaska Visit
The guide Burnett said that the Nepal embassy didn't pay him the cost that incurred during the King Mahendra's hunting expedition in Alaska.
"No expense was too great when royalty came to Alaska in 1967. Then the king of Nepal skipped out on the bill." https://www.adn.com/alaska-life/2021/10/17/no-expense-was-too-great-when-royalty-came-to-alaska-in-1967-then-the-king-of-nepal-skipped-out-on-the-bill/
Read it... i don't believe the story.
who can get away in the US without paying the agreed amount?
The embassy might have refused to pay some additional... tips and other extra ...
Mahendra raja lai pani bhaaarat le nai hatya garera Nepal pathayeko bhanni kura halla matra ho ki sachi ho ??
Maile na patyayeyko chai chaina hai .
@AnandNepal I won't be surprised if the guide exaggerated as you said. He seemed to like the attention. He called King Mahendra "nice little guy". SMH
@Sanaklaal I had never heard of that theory. If there is any connection that would be one interesting theory. However, I searched King Mahendra's death after seeing your post, and came across this quora post. The guy has a very interesting theories regarding the Shah Kings that they were "predisposed for heart disease" and "madness". ЁЯШ╢

sounds like a typical nepali ending to an event that involves money and bills. i heard this particular story before, and brushed it off. now here it is with details, and i believe it to be true. it is sad the hunting guide's wages are still being garnished. sometimes, litigated stuff is in public domain. i will do some digging and see where it goes.
also, if you saw the the couch in the nepali embassy in DC (circa 2018), you would tend to believe why such a big(ish?) bill would have been ignored by the embassy!

Great video! I really enjoyed watching it. Mahendra US visit video was a great find!
It was too bad that there aren't any hunting videos or photos available from that trip.
