Retirement is a beautiful thing. For e.g., if you're a king either you died on your job or got killed (we still remember 2001). Now a days presidents and prime ministers, they retire after 8-10 years. Although it is not the case in Nepal. Same way farmers, damai, sarki, they use to work the same job until their last breath. Thank god, we have retirement concept now. You can retire from one thing and start another! Beautiful thing.

What is your retirement plan?

A lake house in Indrasarovar lake and a motor boat sounds good to me. ЁЯША

If your employer allows 401k, that is the best option for retirement. Otherwise you can use IRA to save for retirement. Best of luck for your retirement

I have a retirement plan equivalent to 401k. But, I know many people who work until they die. One of my coworker came back to work after his retirement from the previous job. He had 401k and enough money to enjoy, but he said that he got bored sitting at home. Thats why he came back to work. Another example are parents. I don't think they will ever retire although they have enough money.

You need something to do after work if you want to enjoy your retirement. Thats why I would like to build a lake house and buy a boat.

Interesting thought to buy a lake house and a boat. I am not old enough to plan for retirement, but I hear you. Boat, fishing and recreational items are fairly affordable. Lake house, depends, some people can afford, some cannot. However, there are enough public lakes within 30 minutes drive in USA, even if you cannot afford a lake house.

May be we don't need to plan for retirement just yet. When time comes, we will figure a way out.
