USMLE for US citizens vs greencard
Hello is there any benefit of getting US Citizenship for residency matching purpose for USMLE, or it is the same as having green card. Since green card holders do not require sponsorship for work, I believe it should be the same. But any expert opinions? I was wondering whether to apply for citizenship or just stay as a green card before the USMLE
Does not make any difference or very less.u have gc that's more than enough. I think u r img not amg. As long as ur img they put in same shit. If u have 240 score ur good for Im or peds just strengthen ur CV with observership. Because of pandemic being gc is huge plus
Thank you @tps2gc, yes I am IMG. Are you implying they put amg on f1 visa above img on green card?
Once ur amg ur on top superior to everything no matter if ur in f1 but hardly u find any amg on f1 only super rich
Btw where are u at the process step 1 2 cs or ur done 3 already .if u are applying this season u know the change for cs already right.this might go for 2022 as well.but Nyways u have a huge plus ,u dnt need to rush for citizenship. 5 vet hospitals seek us citizen out of 500 main institutions which is very small so dnt rush for citizenship ship fust for match.getting citizenship has other general negative consequences not relating to match .so gc is ideal at your stage rather focus on other expects
Just about to start for step 1. What changes on CS, I heard about it getting postponed
i hope by the time u done with steps the pandemic disappears if not i still hope ur not a graduate from Njmc, natioanl MC, devdaha , janaki , kist n so on which are not still validated for cs purpose by ECFMG
I am assuming the school u mentioned are from Nepal, I graduated from Philippines so I hope I do not need to worry about it
Ya I was talking about nepali institutions . U should be fine . 2021 applicants are most unlucky ones .lets hope everything will settle soon
