How Democratic party (DNC) is designed to serve its Billionaire donors and the phenomenon of Bernie Sanders
Using convoluted and conceited rules, the DNC has designed rules and infrastructure to stop popular candidates from being nominated. Take the current primary election. Each state has certain number of delegates in each county and by winning these counties the candidates can get those delegates if and only if they win over 15% of the votes in the state.
So basically, even if you win more votes, you can get less delegates depending on the counties won. This is how Pete Buttigieg got more delegates than Bernie Sanders in Iowa even though Bernie Sanders received more vote count.
A candidate then has to win over 50% of all available delegates in the country to be nominated. Even if a candidate wins 50% of the delegates, the DNC can officially call for a 'brokered convention' where the final nominee will be decided by the DNC officials known as super delegates whose one vote is equal to 10,000 people's vote. Needless to say, these super delegates are deeply connected to the DNC establishment which flourishes on the ability of corporations to donate unlimited money to the DNC.
In order to stop a popular candidate from winning, the DNC has a whole slew of tricks up their sleeves. First line of defense to stop someone from being nominated is run multiple candidates so that the delegates are divided and the popular candidate cannot get 50% plus delegates. Secondly, they can have other candidates drop out and endorse another candidate thus taking away the number of delegates from the popular candidate. In the meantime, the DNC also has internal resources such as voting machine fraud, voting location closure where certain candidate is likely to get more votes, and other tricks designed to suppress the candidate they do not want nominated.
"But DNC is supposed to be a democratic party and most people want to support the Democratic Party." As DNC insiders have greatly benefited from the collusion with profitable industries and billionaires, they do not want to stop losing that flow of money - which is bound to be reduced or stop if Bernie Sanders gets elected. Other politicians are obligated to help the billionaires who donates money to them, but Bernie Sanders is only getting money from the working class so he is only obligated to help the working class.
The cycle of corruption is very simple. Billionaires give million dollars to politicians through many different ways such as book deals, speech fees, etc. Then the politician makes laws that benefit the billionaires by billions of dollars! What it means when politicians are indebted to billionaires is that the laws that are made are more favorable to the billionaires and the laws are put in place to ensure that this chain of corruption does not stop so that they can keep making money. When politicians are indebted to the billionaires, then the safety of the food we eat and medicine we use and all other policies become questionable as noone is looking out for the working class anymore. This means more policies will be made to benefit the corporations in ways that harm people and planet. That's why after years of using certain medicine, FDA recalls the medicine saying it's actually poisonous. The reason these things happen is that policies are made in haste to ensure corporation profits instead of safety of the common people.
As we all know, greed never ends and in fact it increases exponentially and thus in the last however many years, the profit of the billionaires have increased much more than the wages of the common working people. Not only does food and medicine become unsafe and expensive, the entire system of governance becomes directed towards creating a domesticated population who are taught not to question the system by the education system put in place by these politicians, and controlled by the prison for profit system which basically is a corporation that makes profit off of every person put in prison. The corporation actually charges a big $$$ for everyone in prison. To top off all the money in politics there is a fat money military complex which profits in billions and trillions with foreign policies that are promoted to sustain never ending wars. In addition to all the above, there is so much political policies put in place to favor industries that actually harm our climate - in this earth we all live in and where our future generations have a right to be able to live in a safe and pollution free environment.
Money in politics is just very bad for everyone unless you are a billionaire or you profit directly or indirectly from them.
The same money in politics influences the healthcare system whereby billionaire owned corporations sell medicines that you need for 100 times their cost. They charge you 50 times more than their cost because they have to make sure all the middlemen are being paid which included your insurance company, which take all the money every month but make it difficult for you to claim anything. The collusion between politicians and corporations are making it difficult for common people to get medical treatment because of increasing out of pocket costs and deductibles such that people go to get treatment as a last resort, sometimes at the cost of life.
At the rate this is going on, life will be very costly and difficult for our future generations if we do not do anything about it right now. That is why Bernie Sander's movement is about #NotMeUs. This is about us and our livelihoods, our health and our planet.
Bernie Sanders is the only politician who has been consistently saying the same thing that are designed to help the common people by promising free medical care and free college in addition to the big no money in politics.
The reason most people are unsure of Bernie Sanders is because the billionaires own 90% of the media that is consumed by the people. Hence all day in day out, the media indulges in propaganda to stop anyone from disturbing their profitable collusion in politics.
The media scares people into thinking that they will have to pay a lot of tax if Bernie's policies are put in place. But the main thing they hide is that you don't pay more taxes unless you make couple of millions dollars a year. Anyone who makes less than couple of million dollars a year is in fact much better off under Bernie's plans. Bernie is the one with the most compassion for immigrants for example his path to citizenship and promise to never separate children from parents.
This is a very important time in the history of US politics because this is a golden opportunity to elect someone who truly stands for the people. If this opportunity is lost then, it will take a very long time for us to get someone like him. This movement is not just about one person, but about all of us who are aware of how the system is working now and why it is not good! Amazingly, every rally that Bernie holds is breaking all records. In California yesterday about 35,000 people showed up. A record number of people all over the country are becoming aware of what politics should be.

Great to see other Nepalis supporting Bernie Sanders. It is difficult to see few Nepalis hating on Bernie Sanders when he is the only one they probably have anything in common with. Calling him communist is simply ignorance. Communism is not socialism and that too Bernie Sander is advocating democratic socialism which is what the US partially is already.
Communist prem kumar are you still hating on socialism in america?
