I have my GC interview coming up in few weeks. People who have been to these interviews recently- Did you take lawyer with you? Any recommendations?
I didn't take one. If you are comfortable giving interview i don't see the need for one. However i don't know the details of your case. Either way, wouldn't hurt.
Hi Nepal1827, can you share your timeline please.
When did u file i485 and when did u get the interview date? which center is yours Texas center or NBC?
would be great if you could share your information....
Thanks Archer.
@rajkumar_07- Filed in August 2018, Fingerprint Sep, EAD received on April and interview scheduled for June. Its NBC.
I took Lawyer with me as my company paid for. I personally don't think you need one unless there is some issue with your case. My timeline is below:
140/485 Filed: June 2017 (premium)
140 Approved: July 2017
EAD/AP Approved: Nov 2017
1st File transfer: Jan 2018
2nd File transfer: March 2018
Interview June 2018; Approved Same day.
Got the card within a week.
Johny , What kind of issues did you have ? Did you have anything on your record ? I am on the same boat .. waiting for interview but scared to death since I have a DUI
gorkhalee, I did not have any issue. What I meant to say (and just my opinion) was you don't need a lawyer presence unless you have some record (like dui, police record, etc). I took Lawyer with me because my company paid for but it didn't made any difference during the interview.
You don't need a lawyer. The lawyer is only there if the person taking your interview does something unconstitutional . But since you have a DUI you can take a lawyer for your peace of mind. I have seen multiple people with DUI get GC. Just make sure you have all official records that you have successfully completed your DUI thing ( that is needed for sure).
