HELP ! Filing for Citizenship for my father
At first ask your father about his opinion? Does he want to get the citizenship? If that's the case then we can discuss it later on the next outcomes.
Accept my apology in advance if i am out of track
Thanks
Yes he wants to apply for citizenship.
His GC expires in 2 months and was wondering if he should hire attorney for that.
First question, does you father speak english?
no need to hire attorney

dhasukha, I specifically asked about your parent's english speaking ability because
You Are Exempt From The English Language Requirement, But Are Still Required To Take The Civics Test If You Are:
Age 50 or older at the time of filing for naturalization and have lived as a permanent resident (green card holder) in the United States for 20 years (commonly referred to as the “50/20” exception).
OR
Age 55 or older at the time of filing for naturalization and have lived as a permanent resident in the United States for 15 years (commonly referred to as the “55/15” exception).
He does not qualify to apply for citizenship because he does not speak english.
You have to wait until 2024.

dhasukha, sajha.com is a place to spread rumors. Only college students come here. No one's gonna help you.
Seek help in Indian sites.
I just wanted to know if it's okay to apply for his citizenship Or Renew the Green card since it's got only 2 months left to expire. He is 70 years old and can read English but not so good at speaking. How hard is it to renew GC ?
He lost his home in Nepal in 2015 disaster, so he s now willing to stay here.
That's why I'm asking this.
Renew GC and apply for citizenship.
If you have a good lawyer, you might still have enough time to apply for citizenship.
I think renewing GC is simpler than Citizenship due to time constraints you may have.
It is always a good idea to hire a lawyer. You can always process it yourself, immigration site has all the info you need.
