I am trying to divorce my spouse because of irreconcilable difference between us and both of agree to divorce. We got married in Nepal and came here and have not registered our marriage here but have jointly filed tax and other things what normally in my situation have done. Now i do not live with my spouse and we live separate in different states and do not have anything between us, so its better for both to divorce and we agree. I need to get rid of this relationship however my spouse does not care and is ok with what i do. I do not have much money to afford costly lawyers so what is the best way to end this marriage so that it can finally end. Those who have gone through this process or know this thing, please help me with your answers.
Please be respectful and understand the painful life process one has to go through which although unfortunate can happen due to unseen, unthought circumstance.

Go to legalzoom.com, get necessary paperwork and do a no fault divorce. Provided there are no property issues back home in Nepal and no children, it should be fairly quick and painless.

Bro, I am so sorry to hear about this. Sometime the things do not work out..
I just would like suggest as i have deal with the divorce situation. IF you both want to file divorce with mutual understanding without any clause or any demand, then it is very simple. Just go to the court house, and go to marriage and divorce dept. You both guys need to fill and sign divorce application and sign. The divorce filing fee is different depending which state are you in, but its not that expensive, may be around 35- 100.
You need lawyer only if the spouse is demanding any sort of property or money or any compensation. In this case lawyer try to defend those demand from the spouse.
so if it is in mutual understand between both side to get divore, you both have to go to court house to file divore and make sure you both carry govt issued ID card.
