Hello,
I am new in this page. I sold out liquor to minor like 4 weeks ago. I hired lawyer after 2 days so that we can fast dismiss the case. My lawyer is saying continuously that tabc people hasn't issued warrant until now. why it is taking so long time? I am totally worried now. I don't know what to do. does the tabc agent take so long time to issue warrant. I am expecting fast reply and comments, suggestions from all the members from here.

mero case ma it was a set up,took me to jail right away, spent 6 hrs, took my fingerprints, pictures. had to post a bond of about $535 to get out, gave me a court date which was a month later from that day. i pleaded guilty and they charged exactly $535, some for a goverment lawyer who was representing from my side and the other as a miscellaneous charge making in the total amount of $535. they dismissed my case right away after that. eventhough they dismissed my case, it is still in the record. btw this thing happened around 2013.

I was on the same boat several years ago & TABC gave me a ticket without a court date. The way it works is they will issue a warrant on you and once you get arrested they will give you a court date, you REALLY want to avoid this as it will stay in your record forever. In my case fortunately I was recommended a good attorney who dismissed the case before TABC could issued the warrant. Key point here is a competitive attorney that has good relationship with the DA since DA office can only dismiss & agree to withdraw the charges. I had spoken to several other criminal attorneys prior who were not quite knowledgeable & wanted to wait until the court date. After 2 years of dismissal my attorney filed a case to expunge all records that might be anywhere in the database. My records basically disappeared.

You need to act fast!!

One thing I would be very careful about is when you post your bail make sure you go there on monday or middle of the week. Don't do that on friday because one of my friend didn't have attorney and tried posting bail on friday but he happened to forgot one document at home and he had to stay in jail until monday. Make sure you have a very good attorney handling the case. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

I appreciate all for sharing your knowledge. But in my case I am not issued any warrant. It has been a month. My attorney is saying that tabc agent is not giving any call or any response. can I change lawyer? is it possible to do that?

i was in same situation back in 12,during Tabc sting operation. i was not arrested at the scene, but eventually sheriff showed at my door around 6am with warrant. After i got arrested, i hired Ray Jobe (2145224111). All charges were dropped and with expunsion , i have no record of being arrested at all.  I recommend discussing your case with him.
