1. Did you have to go for consular processing? If so, was the topic of TPS brought up?
2. How long did the process take?
3. Did you work as full time/ as a contractor?
4. Examples of companies/consultancies who have done this.

This would be a huge help to me. Thanks.

@mike_tyke21
will be too early to speak. I have also applied for GC through EB3 program, currently in the process of getting I-140 approved. It would be nice to hear from other folks on this forum who have already received their GC while on TPS. Thanks for creating this thread.

Look at this thread http://sajha.com/sajha/html/index.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=120303
There are few users whose GC was approved just based on TPS .

1. Did you have to go for consular processing? If so, was the topic of TPS brought up?
-- Consular processing will be only be applcable if you were out of status before you got TPS for more than some days(unsure). Please google that dats.

2. How long did the process take?

-- This is very relative however from start to finish if all goes well 1.5 to 2 years

3. Did you work as full time/ as a contractor?

Stupid question. It does/should not matter contractor or full time.

4. Examples of companies/consultancies who have done this.

-- Another stupid question. don't ask me why.

I suggest you to google and research the GC process and other threads before expecting us to hold your hand.

@fdpower It's okay to ask questions. Nobody knows everything from birth. I think @mike_tyke21 is just trying to gather some info from fellow Nepalese who were on the similar boat. No question is a stupid question when you have a quest to learn. Also, working as a full time and contractor might matter depending on the company that you worked for. When you need experience letter from your previous employer than some consulting companies might not easily provide one as you might have left them for better opportunity and as usual they will not like you if you are giving no business to them. As far as you can collect your experience letters from your past employer and provide enough proof of your experience that has been drafted for you at the time of perm application you should be fine @mike_tyke21. Good luck. Let's help each other with the knowledge from our experience. Let's motivate each other rather than pulling anyone down. God bless.

@fdpower I created this thread to help people who are confused as I am about immigration laws. Thanks for chipping in!

There are many people who got GC from TPS (many of my friends when H1B lottery were not in favor of them). NO consular processing.

mike , If you look into my other posts, while I can sometimes be blunt about it I'm pretty spot on on helping out people regarding immigration issues. However, we expect people to do some little research on their own before posting an amibiguis / trivial questions.

Good luck though. Did not mean to discourage you.
