Any Clinical SAS/Statistical programmers here ?
How long will it take to get the training and have a good understanding of SAS clinical programming if i want to make a career move into this field ? How difficult is it ? Can anyone share some ideas if they're in the same field ? How's the job market, salary etc. I've done PhD in Biology and it's taking me nowhere and not interested in spending anymore time in wet lab research. Made one of the worst decision in my life but want to get away from it ! please suggest.
Thank you

@frustu,
what about CC teaching job? that way you don't need a post doc. One of my friend's friend started this fall in Chemistry. He says there is lots of flexibility and he has classes only 4 days and even those 4 days he is free after 3.00
sorry, i don't have answers to your sas question, though i am interested myself. ;)
Teaching profession is also not for me. I am sure there are many other just like me who went to do phd just for status ??
Actually, what is wrong with wet lab research.I was interested in biology and how nature and human body works.If you think that way programming is more boring .It's abstract,It don't make any sense.It's the thing senseless people do...
frustu, i can understand ur frustration....it would not take you more than 6 months to be an expert in SAS clinical, given you regularly practice and apply them, if possible...just have a BASE SAS Certification (at least) and Advanced SAS Certification (if possible)...
Hanuman Jee,
There's nothing wrong with wet lab research but I don't like it. I just don't like it and it's not my cup of tea. Also, the money I make is not appealing at all.
College football rocks,
Thanks will start looking into it .
How much do they make in SAS?
Manuwa, thats a vague question...However, in general, if you have decent experience, and in places not expensive such as NY, NJ, DC, CA etc...you make around 100k...Again, there are lot other factors that come into play....
