I am considering moving to Baltimore soon, Can anyone suggest me which place would be good to live in Baltimore/or burbs for a family with school going kids? I am looking to rent out 1-2BR apt, preferably below $1000.

Thanks Rambrooo for your suggestion. Do you have any idea how long it will take from those places to drive to downtown, as that's where I am going to work. Is month to month renting possible in those areas?

Most of the Nepali living in these places..

1. Fairways At Towson
6920 Donachie Rd, Baltimore, MD 21239

2. Drumcastle Apts
6306 Holly Lane, Apt B, Baltimore, MD 21212

3. Courthouse Square Apartments
1112 Ivywood Ln, Towson, MD 21286

4. Belvedre towers
1190 W Northern Pkwy, Baltimore, MD 21210

5. Roland Ridge
4412 La Plata Ave, Baltimore, MD 21211

There are other places like Security Blvd, Ellicott City, Owings Mill, Columbia, Laurel , some apartments near H-Mart, Lottee in Route 40 to try.

I do not recommend living in Downtown area if you have a family and kids.

Someone suggested me, Catonsville, Dundalk. How about that?

Catonsville isiborderline of the West Baltimore. And as u know the infamous nature of WB. Plz Google. Dundalk comes under similar category. Fells point and federal hills are okay to live, have colleagues living there. But theirs kids go to private school or home schooled. Meaning public schools are not so great. County with great public school is Howard or Montgomery where Montgomery is closer to DC. Towns in Howard - elicott city and Columbia are the safest bet if u could find room/apts of that range. We could talk if u so wish.

The best place to live is in towson area and commuting by light rail to downtown. You have a park and ride facility in some of the stations. I do not recommend living in dandulk and catonville.

Thanks Krishna Neupane and neerman.Based on your suggestions, I think I should try one in either Towson or Ellicot area. I am also thinking of Parkville (being closer to Towson), and may be Rosedale, as it has shorter distance to DT.

Well, how about living in Columbia? very nice place, more mid class diversity neighbors, cheap apartments as well, Downtown Baltimore is 10-15 mins away, and you use small regular roads..or if you want you can use 95North highway.

Or you can live on the edge of Montgomery county, around Burtonsville, you can take highway 95 North to downtown baltimore. School wise Montgomery county is best for kids.

Remember, if you use North route in the morning is no traffic at all, because South route, east route, everybody is coming to Washington and Virginia, traffic is mess in the morning.

Welcome neighbor!!!

Baltimore ain't the place to live ... brruh. Even church pastors get chased out of Baltimore hoods by the hood goons.
