I've a different view on this. I know I'm going to the extreme, the following view is rather controversial.

First of all, those who have raped those women in the name of gynecologists and other doctors, they need to be put behind bars. Those quack doctors who have killed patients knowingly or unknowingly, they should be put behind bars. Period! Those quack doctors who have injured patients, the patients should sue them and get justice.

I'm talking about those who are found to be quacks but otherwise have been excellent doctors, how about them. They have fake I.Sc. certificates, but have genuine M.D. I think they must be penalized, but should be given a second chance. Maybe they should be allowed to retake the I.Sc. tests, and also forced to take the license exams again. They should definitely pay proportionate fines and get some years in jail.
This is because in this world, there are too many fake certificate holders... everywhere! From the very beginning of this world, humans have been faking.. fake resumes, fake certificates etc. Especially in Nepal, it is not easy to get into the medical college. Sometimes you don't have money, sometimes you just don't have time and other times, inspite of rigorous desire to be a doctor, you just don't have that luck. Some of these quack doctors have become doctors despite all the odds, and should be given a second chance under some conditions. The question is how to make sure the quacks will get rehabilitated the right way the first time.
I know this amnesty will have negative consequences and implications for future would-be doctors. Food for thought!

This crime is done Knowingly. Their past income should be confiscated and must put into bar over 20 years.

There are two crimes you need to distinguish. One is producing fake certificate, another is killing.
If the patient died while being treated by the quack, it does not mean the quack must have intentionally killed the patient, although he had a previous crime of producing fake certificates. In that sense I used the word knowingly or unknowingly.


How about fake engineers?
I'd say what about them? I see fake certicates and resumes left and right.
Well, it depends I guess. If an engineer submits a fake resume or certificates/diplomas etc., unless his action injures a person or two, or kills them, nothing happens. The employers are the first ones to take action depending on the employee's performance.
My colleague claims he has Masters in Electronics and used to write English like a two year old. He got an opportunity to work as a technician and started soldering jobs. But he slowly moved up the ladder, became a design engineer in hardware. Now his certificates don't matter.
In other fields like civil engineering, there have been cases where bridges were poorly built and they collapsed, killing folks. I have heard of the company management being prosecuted.

I've heard of fake teachers in Nepal. I remember vaguely a teacher who had produced brilliant students and worked for 20+ years before the public found out he had not passed 10th grade. What to do with him? Nothing...


Speaking of fake resumes, I just wonder who has not learnt to brush up his/her resume? If you have not, just hurry up.

besides, being medical doctor is not just about holding degree it's about discipline of life. you don't do drugs in your youth and still eligible for medical degree. but personally I feel they should treat pilots leniently. Pilots are just big bus driver, they are not even driver in modern air technology sense, they are just skilled maneuvers and auto piloting take care everything, most of time they sleep (big planes), SLC Isc Bsc passed what makes different?, they get their job based on how many hours they flew and it's quiet long hours too- certified by practical trainer on the spot. they are just very skilled laborers with in my eyes. do they need studies oc they do but what makes a difference? very little

Except one person passing from TUTH (Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital), the authenticity of degrees of other "doctors" are spurious. Nepal Medical Council (NMC) seem to be run in the style of MAFIA who provides medical license by taking some lumpsum. NMC has acknowledged providing personnel to sit on exams on behalf of these "Fake doctors". Their income source is in danger, that is the reason NMC is protesting the investigations. If the "doctors" had genuine medical degrees, they should be given the option to pass bachelor in science and subsequently the opportunity to sit on NMC exams to get the license to practice.

The scandal is getting bigger and bigger and will become a tornado soon. I'm sure the very police personnel from CIB will be caught too one way or other. In Nepal, corruption has taken roots so deep it is everywhere, the question is how big a corruption is and how visible the impacts are. Personally, I'm more worried about how to fix it.

One thought..their ISc certificates might be fake..but if they indeed have passed MBBS or BE don't they technically qualify to be doctors or engineers? And how can they survive in their professional fields if they are incompetent in their field of core competency? Not sure about doctors..but i guess engineers dont really have anything worth calling engineering work in Nepal. For little that i know most of them end up with some ठेकेदार or end up as माड्साप उर्फ हाकिम in administrative role.. Myself being from engineering field i am totally lost how can one fake otherwise and survive..

They also had pilots with fake degrees..wondering how they landed the plane if they were fake..They must be geniuses if they pulled that kind of gig without proper training/degree..

i'm not kidding, nepal govt is absurd they make weird rules that don't make sense, motor driver or student pilot in usa all you need is read and write. requirement after training completion is up to the airlines companies, they may say at least bachelor education needed ( for social values /skills) but not like - must be science, depends airline to airline, if nepal govt is making rule for private airlines that speaks itself about nepal. commercial pilot get their rating by education level, flying hours etc so small airlines are fine with GED while big one might say bachelor(which u can earn later not necessarily before training ) I don't know why pilot training is related to Isc Bsc etc in nepal. Does physics math helps? oc but all over the world it is not required. do you know why in nepal? becuz in nepal being Pilot is a big thing social status thing- not knowing all flying in modern days are done by AI system, they just keep eye on that is it. Here in US becoming pilot easiest hence plenty of them and hence they don't make that good. Also Most european born pilots are flying indonesia, malysia singapoore etc why ? it is about survival not the demand.

Three of the last benchers from our class are doctors now. Our slc batch only had 3 second divisions and two of them were them. I dont know how many they have killed already.

And there were other doctors who went to Teaching College ( a subsidized medical of a begging nation of Nepal) and are staunch republicans here. They advocate small government, capitalism, and are voting donald trump. They actually think they won a lottery from the govt and have no obligation to pay back the state for free educations. Freaking Nepali Doctors....interesting group of morons.

But why the heck they are no check certificate of all those govt employee , judges, lawyers, police and army. I know first hand there are bunch of fakers there. Why only doctors .
