Relatives of inmates living at Banke Prison staged demonstrations in front of the District Administration Office on Sunday demanding relocation of prisoners kept in earthquake-damaged building.

“Prisoners who could be granted amnesty should be released following the due process while others should be shifted to a safer place,” said Mahesh Singh, son of Bhagat Singh who is facing jail terms for his involvement in violent political movement. “Who will be responsible if the jail collapses and something nasty happens to the inmates?” he questioned.

माथिका हरफ canadanepal बाट चोरेको हु | एस्तो त छ हाम्रो माग्ने logic “Who will be responsible if the jail collapses and something nasty happens to the inmates?” he questioned."
Of course, it's an Earthquake that's responsible for damage. These idiots don't want to understand that aside from being in the jail, ppl living in their own residences could also be killed, now cross-question them who's gonna be responsible if something nasty happens to them living in their own place?

This is yet another example, how we're so geared to bend the rules, capitalize dire situations for our own benefits.

But here is the verdict anyway:

Dear Stallon, I completely agree with your argument. We, Nepalese have been conditioned and groomed to be on the begging side and be okay about it, rather than being on the enterprising front. It is our cultural heritage. Full of resources in house, but we are blinded by stupor and can not think about using them. We "beg" for help even to use our own resources, instead of "asking". you see, where I am going, begging vs asking

That being said, I still think, 'asking' is okay when in need, that is basic human nature. I see this as Nepalese being ready in their "organizational skill". Ask together and it will be heard, do not 'beg' together.

I think if the prisons are crumbling down and does not look safe enough, it is the government's job to ensure they are transferred to a better facility. If they cannot provide safe facility then it's their moral obligation to set them free.
