Comcast Router Replacement
Do you guys have any product recommendation to replace Comcast modem/router? I don't want to pay $8 rent for modem/router per month anymore…...
I have an asus rt n900. Its little bit expensive but it worth all that money.
If your living in a house then i would recommend you this. But if your living in an apartment then its not worth paying so much.
I would then recommend you linksys ea3500. I had this for a while and it worked great.

Lucky for you they have a certified one for 35 bucks.
Also, all those <$25 routers are also good. More money, more range.
Best of luck
To be safe, you can buy the exact same model as comcast uses. But don't ever buy motorola SB modems. I had 3 modems that went dead within few months of each other. I was almost about to think that comcast was sending some kind of -kill modem signal to them. So I had to rent from them for some time as well.
Linksys makes good modems. I never had issues with them.

Here is a list of Comcast certified modems:

You can buy any docsis modem on that list and comcast will activate it,
Thanks everyone……but still I am looking for modem and router combo..I mean a single device…or do you guys think buying modem and router separately would be wiser???
kbb,
check the website that maxpayne has cited. most of them contains modems only but many of them from Netgear are modem and router combo. I used this recommended list to get the modem for me. I already had router when I got comcast internet. it's never boring to have both.
SBG6580 has worked well for me
Modem with router combo is like buying a hybrid bike... They can't perform like street bikes on streets...neither they can perform like mountain bikes on hilly trails....
So, i would go for separate modem and separate router.
