How does Obamacare affect F1 students? Do we must have insurance from the start of the year 2014? My college dont require health insurance and I dont have one. So are we required to buy the insurance? The cheapest I can see cost around $200+. How the hell is that affordable?? Will F1 be eligible for Medicaid now on or what?

You are probably exempt from healthcare mandate, unless your college requires you to carry insurance.
And no you aren't eligible for medicaid, only citizens are eligible for that as long as they're very poor.

March 31st is the deadline. So am I in F1 status supposed to sign up for Obamacare? My college doesn't required insurance and my wife has CHIP. I will be applying for OPT in couple of month but have worked using SSN all this time and have filed taxes. So what do I do now? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks
