Haiti's TPS was suppsed to end on Feb 3 2026 when Biden admin re-designated last year. Noem actually reduced it by 6 months and it's slated to end on August 3rd. There is no extra transition period. Heck, she even reduced the initial period. There will definitely be a lawsuit here as well. For now, she's only cancelling TPS for the countries that got re-designated. Let's see what she'll do for the old TPS.

I guess everybody knows who this person is n most of us know what Project 2025 is.what she n the Trump admin mean.Tempory means temporary.Hope everybody understands what she mean.
@Accomodation, all I'm saying is there is no precedence yet for the old TPS. I'm not saying she'll definitely renew. She might give additional time for Nepal or maybe not. Let's wait and see. It's just 2 months now.
Next one should be H1B visa. Lottery is starting at the beginning of March, so stay tuned for H1B policy change next.

i feel like this whole TPS thing is going away with Trump Admin, or may be TPS will be there but none of the countries will get TPS, all terminated

Whatever i mentioned above will happen.tps will b terminated,lawsuits will b filed,then tps will b auto renewed until the court decision comes out n again there will b lawsuit until the decision comes frm supreme court then we will finalley abt to adjust after the denial comes frm there.
@Username619 it will not happen as it is a statute passed by congress. President cannot override it with executive order or his DHS cannot choose not to follow the law. They might not designate new countries for TPS, but they cannot take it away without proper review. It will get blocked in the court. As long as it gets blocked for a while, the whole scenario will change in a year or so.
There was a news yesterday that 11 year old girl committed suicide as she was being bullied in the school for being hispanic and other kids were bullying her saying her parents are getting deported and whatnot. Hispanic will eventually realize that the stronman they voted for is not really good for their interest. There will definitely be a backlash and things will calm down.

Not sure but Heard that adhikaar is working on TPS behind the scene, and its not guarantee that if court will hear the case..if court hears the case, then they might be able to drag it for some time but if court doesnt want to hear the case then thats it nothing, done on June 24...... so what are the chances of court hearing Nepal case on TPS ?
It will definitely not be done on June 24. Court will hear it as last time. Don't think too much right now. At least wait till the announcement in April before losing your sleep. If you cannot get reinstatement, then re-apply for the college and get new I-20 and apply for change of status to F1. If you have legal entry (even if you have re-entered on TPS), you should be able to get new I-20 and change the status to F1. There are many options so don't worry so much for no reason.
i hope atleast for 1 year they will drag it out or more, and yeah reinstating to f1 or switching f1 status sounds like a last option...but leaving the current job because TPS expiration would suck :(

Looks like Venezuelans lawsuit first hearing is on March 24th, they are hoping court will drag the timeline for some time
Ukrainians do nove have TPS. It’s parole status and is easier to cancel by executive branch. TPS is a satute, so it’s a different scenario. Hope they won’t lose the status though.
