Nepali Migrants Frustrate Indian Store Owner
Potomac, Maryland - While stopping for gas at the corner gas station in our community, something caught my attention that day. The owner, we call him Gupta-ji, was outside and approached us. He said hi to me and started to chit chat with my husband.
He said he is fed up with Nepali migrants asking for jobs. He has to deal with 4-5 Nepali migrants a day, which leaves him frustrated and angry.
And I stepped into the conversation and asked him, "Are you sure they are Nepalese?" He replied, "Of course," and started listing last names like Subedi, Manandhar, Dahal, and so on. I couldn't help but mutter, "Damn, thank God none of them have the same last name as mine!"
It is disheartening that none of you seem to have sympathy for the Nepali migrants. Instead of helping them find their way into Nepali community organization or coming up with ideas to support them, you're all busy with unrelated chatter, like dogs sniffing each other's behinds.
Thanks to Indian business owners, I've notice they've created many job opportunities for the Nepalese in the greater Washington DC area. They could choose to hire Hispanics, but they prioritize Nepalese because, in Nepal, Nepalese ancestors traditionally served as guards at door and provided security to schools, offices, apartments and other places in India. This sense of obligation leads them to offer jobs to Nepalese first.
Oh wow, what a surprise, another double standard from Miss Sexy in sari. First, you're all like "thank god I don't have those surnames" but then you turn around and post about your so called experience and now you say we don't have sympathy? Way to show your true colors, snob extraordinaire!

It’s the pot calling the kettle black. You didn’t hesitate to express relief that those sharing your last name weren’t the ones troubling Mr. Gupta. Yet, here you are, claiming to have written this to garner sympathy for your fellow Nepalese. The double standard is apparent to anyone who reads this, which is reflected in the first three comments.

Forty or fifty years ago, Nepalese society put heavy burden on women. Now, tables have turned. Men are leaving Nepal for foreign countries, otherwise they are labeled as lazy, useless, mediocre - you name it. It doesn't matter if you're an administrator at an electric pradhikaran or a banker at Nepal Rastra Bank; unless men go to a foreign country, they don't have a successful career in the eyes of the society, which thinks they build wealth aboard, as if dollars grow on trees, while Harkey burns his ass working at a gas station, driving Uber, and being a bartender helper at a strip club in Baltimore.
But of course, parents can offer their nice daughter ( no guarantees on virginity ).

100 years ago, America and British and European countries made many countries their bitches and Now, tables have turned. People from same countries travel to their to make money. Some people go to foreign country and put out complaints about migration asking jobs too many times in Indian store and when you hear that it wasn’t one of your relative, you become thankful to thank God. And later you mention that story was to get help for Nepali migrants. Not sure from which angle you want reader to get that.
