SURYA NEPAL ASHA SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD 2012 First ever award to recognize the Nepalese social entrepreneurs who create value for PEOPLE, PLANET and PROFIT Download Form Information in Nepali There are many ordinary people doing extraordinary work to create social, environmental and economic value; often we do not even know about their great achievements.  Last year, the Surya Nepal Asha Social Entrepreneurship Award (SNASEA) recognized five such winners for their achievements and encouraged others to follow these examples of individuals creating social, environmental and economic impact.  The Award they received has made a huge difference to their lives and has paved the way for them to scale and attain greater heights. This year again, we announce the call for nominations/ proposal for, the first ever award to recognize the Nepalese social entrepreneurs who create value for PEOPLE, PLANET and PROFIT. We will bring those hidden heroes out to the public, award the best ventures and give all of our applicants the opportunity to join our network and promote their products or services. The vision of the award is not only to celebrate the hidden heroes for their great initiatives but also to showcase their ventures and the impact they have made.  The Award will not just be a ceremony but a learning experience aimed at encouraging people to become ‘job creators’ instead of ‘job seekers’. The deadline is 10 September 2012 and individuals can apply or nominate deserving social entrepreneur/s. The selection will be based on the following criteria: BASIC SELECTION CRITERIA The objective of the selection criteria is to: 1.  Identify deserving entrepreneurs who are successfully running sustainable and impactful ventures 2.  Reward and recognise social entrepreneurs making a difference in their community or society FINAL SELECTION/ EVALUATION CRITERIA The final selection/ evaluation will be based on the following: 1. Organisational Profile Location Legal entity Goal, Objective, Program Focus Sector and geographical coverage 2.  Program Development Strategy Location Customers Interface between demand and supply Accessing resources and opportunities 3. Resource Management 3.1  Financial Resource Cash Kind External support if any Credit support source 3.2    Human Resource Staff members Area of expertise Education & experience 4.  Value Chain Operation Production Distribution Marketing Partnership Development 5. Growth Cycle Stage Seedling Toddler Adolescent Maturation Sustainability 6. Social Impact Employment opportunities Improvement in livelihood of low income groups Environment protection Socially inclusive and gender sensitive The evaluation of the above mentioned facets will be done on the basis of: 1. Relevance in relationship to the  policy of the government and the emerging needs of the community 2. Effectiveness in terms of creating strong linkage between the changing market demand and the supply chain 3. Efficiency in terms of utilisation of the financial and human resource management and the outsourcing capacity 4.
