Residents of Sindhupalchowk district, who have been residing currently in United States, organized a huge cultural event at Queens Palace in Woodside, NY. At the event titled “education for life”, folk singer Bimal Kumar Dangi, Sailo Singer Sanjok Yonjan, Comedian Gopal Nepal Fiste was the major attractions. At the event that even consisted of several performances by local Nepali artists, Bimal Kumar Dangi with his presentations of folk songs made the audience nostalgic. Audiences accompanied Dangi dancing from their places. Sanjog also heated the stage. His performance of Tamang Selo was heart touching. According the event co-ordinator Neema Sherpa, there are not many schools in Sindhupalchowk district and the existing schools do not have facilities necessary for proper educational facilities to the people and the event was aimed at assisting that existing need. According to Neema Sherpa, all the money collected by Sindhu USA welfare society would be provided to the schools. According to the chairman of the society Bansalal Moktan, the event was organized to continue the foundation to assist the schools.
