  लाहुरे बन्ने रहर SATURDAY, 28 JULY 2012 11:24 नागरिक1 2 3 4 5   (0 votes, average 0 out of 5) मनोज घर्तीमगर, पोखरा, साउन १२ -ब्रिटिस आर्मीमा भर्ती भएर अरूभन्दा उच्च शैलीमा जीवन बिताउने सपना बोकेर थुप्रै युवा यतिबेला पोखरामा दौडधूप गर्दैछन्। लाहुरे हुन चाहिने शारीरिक अभ्यास गर्न मिर्मिरेसँगै पोखरा रंगशाला पुग्छन् उनीहरू। लाहुरे भएपछि अरूभन्दा राम्रो जीवन बाँच्न पाइने र सम्मान पनि हुने ठान्छन्।  सपना पूरा गर्न पोखरा रंगशालामात्र हैन, यहाँका चोकचोक र डाँडाकाँडामा शारीरिक अभ्यास गरिरहेका देशभरिका युवा भेटिन्छन्। बर्सेनि पोखरामा खुल्ने ब्रिटिस आर्मी र सिंगापुर पुलिसमा भर्ती हुने सपना संगालेका थुप्रै युवा कडा अभ्याससाथ सुनौलो भविष्य कल्पँदैछन्। कतिपय तालिम केन्द्रमै भर्ना भएका छन् भने कतिपय आफ्नै पाराले अभ्यास गर्दैछन्।  लाहुरे बन्ने सपना बोकेका पोखराका सन्दिप थापामगर उत्साहित छन्। साढे १७ वर्ष पुगेका उनी पहिलोपटक अभ्यास गर्दैछन्। 'पहिलोपटक लागेको छु, निकै उत्साही छु,' उनले भने।  मगर, गुरुङ, राई, लिम्बु, समुदायका अधिकांश युवो बाजेबज्यै बिशेष गरी मामा र अन्य मान्यजनबाट विभिन्न अवसरमा 'लाहुरे भएर, कर्णेल, जर्नेल भएर, धेरै धन कमाएस्.....' भनेजस्ता आशीर्वाद पाउँछन्। त्यही आशीर्वादले उनीहरूलाई लाहुरे हुन प्रेरित गर्छ।  'मलाई त बाजे, बज्यै, मामाहरूले लाहुरे भएस् भन्दै आशीर्वाद दिन्छन्,' पोखराका नवीन गुरुङले भने, 'उहाँहरूको आशीर्वादले पनि लाहुरे हुन्छु कि भन्ने लागेको छ।' भर्ती हुन लालायित भिडमा भेटिए पर्वतका विश्वास गुरुङ। उनी दुई महिनाअघि पोखरा झरेका हुन्। विश्वासका बुबा भारतीय र बाजे बेलायती सेनामा जागिरे थिए जसले उनलाई पनि हौस्यायो।  भर्तीका लागि चाहिने उमेर बाँकी हुँदासम्म हरेस नखाई भिडिरहन्छन् युवा। पटकपटक भिड्दा अनुत्तीर्ण भएका युवाले हिम्मत हारेका छैनन्।  प्युठानका ईश्वर थापामगर गत वर्ष असफल भए। छनोट नहुनुलाई दुःख हैन, अनुभवका रूपमा उपयोग गर्दै उनी पुनः तयारीमा जुटेका छन्। गाउँकै तीनचारजना लाहुरेको उच्चस्तरको जीवनशैली देखेका ईश्वरको सानैदेखिको सपना हो- लाहुरे बन्नु। 'जसरी भए पनि लाहुरे बन्ने हो,' डिप्लोमा इन सिभिल इन्जिनियरिङ पढिरहेका उनले भने, 'पोहोर असफल भएँ, अहिले आशा राखेको छु।'  नुवाकोट, खिमताङका खिमान तामाङ ब्रिटिस आर्मीमा भर्ती नभए बल्ल अरूतिर प्रयास गर्ने सोचमा छन्। 'जसरी पनि लाहुरे हुन चाहन्छु,' पाँच महिनादेखि तालिम गरिरहेका खिमानले भने, 'ब्रिटिस भएन भने इन्डियन र त्यो पनि नभए नेपाल आर्मी भएर पनि धोका पूरा गर्नु छ।' सुरुमा मगर, गुरुङ, राई, लिम्बुलाई मात्र भर्ती लिने गरेकाले ठकुरी, बाहुन, नेवार, क्षेत्री, र अन्य समुदायका युवा अरु जात लेखाएर लाहुरे बन्थे। पछिल्लो केही वर्षदेखि सबै जातिलाई खुला प्रतिस्पर्धाबाट सहभागी बनाउन थालिएको छ।  कैलाली धनगढीका विमल जोशी र दार्चुला दुर्गास्थानका खेमराज भट्टले ब्रिटिस आर्मी भएपछि जीवन सहज हुने बुझेका छन्। पोखरास्थित स्यालुट गोर्खाको होस्टेलमा बसेर दुवै पाँच महिनादेखि अभ्यास गरिरहेका छन्। 'हाम्रो समुदायमा सकभर सरकारी जागिर खानुपर्छ भन्ने मान्यता छ, तर मेरो रहर लाहुरे बन्ने छ,' आइए पास गरेका खेमराजले भने। सबै जातिलाई भर्ती लिने निर्णयले खुब खुसी छन् धनगढीका विमल जोशी पनि। 'क्षेत्रीबाहुन पनि गोर्खाली हुन् भन्ने देखाउन म भर्तीमा आएको हुँ।'   प्रतिक्रियाहरू (0)

 Look at the knowledge level of Nepalese journalists....Why do not they do some research before writing craps??? I have seen so many people of other casts like Thakuri and Chhetri as british army who never hid their surname to join....ABA YO TORPE PATRAKAR LAI KASLE BUJHAI DINE BRITISH ARMY MA SABAI BHANDA PAHILA ENLIST GARIEKA CAST HARU CHHETRI, MAGAR, GURUNG AND THAKURI HO BHANERA....BICHARA LE SAB BAJAR MA SUNEKO HALLA KO ADHAR MA LEKHE JASTO CHHA.

- I think it's about time for the Chettris/Thakuris of Nepal to denounce their Rajput lineage.Hello...Chettris/Thakuris of Nepal are almost exclusively of Khas origin. -For some reason we say "बाहुनछेत्री" as if it means the same.Bahun and Chettri are as different as English is to French.
