 I am going to attend UHD on fall. So i am in search for a safe and affordable apartment in Houston.  My price range is $700 and I am looking for 1 bedroom apt.  When i looked up the reviews for few random apts. plp were not very satisfied, Crimes were high.  I wish I could find a one-bed room apartment for $700. A 'cheap' one-bedroom apartment costs $1,200 in the Bay Area.

 jhapaliketo: DO you live there? if yes could you tell me how is it from safety point of view like break ins n stuff, etc I live in country now , its much different than houston,..so just wanted to get a head start on it.. Thank you ya'll input..

 Guys any other sugesstions, it's about time to move to houston in couple of months... What I have found is to avoid SouthWest and fifth ward area for sure because of the crime rate. any apartments in safe neighborhoods with $700/ month for a single bedroom?
